Need opinions about the Premium Loops

For those of you who have been to the Fort and have seen all the changes first hand, what are your opinions about the new premium sites? I've been looking at everyone's pictures and the golf cart video tour (thank you everyone!) and the new sites look to be almost all concrete with very little ground between sites. Is there anywhere to put up lamp posts, EZ ups, etc? Now that our trip is getting close I'm worried about where I'm going to put all our stuff.

You should not have the mental image that the Premium sites are a parking lot with trees interspersed. There are wide patches of landscaping between the pads and though much of the usable space (level, flat, dry and vegetation-free) may be paved you will not feel like you're boondocking in Wal*Mart! You can look at my TR from last Christmastime and see the decorations I was able to put up in front of my Premium in the 500 loop. In addition to the decorations I had an EZ-Up behind the moho, my Mom's car in front, and a cart (for a day). You'll find there is more room for "stuff" in most Premiums than in any other kinda site.

YelloXTerra, no, 100 and 200 (and 300) are not Premium but Preferred, as always, and have not changed a bit during the renovations.

:santa:

After staying in a preferred site (for the concerns you mentioned) and seeing the premium sites first hand, we booked a premium site for next year. The premium sites are larger and cleaner looking. The preferred site had a small gravel area in the space in front of the door that just added a tripping step in front of the door, as well as a source of sand in the camper. The site was barely enough space to fit the camper and car, but that is because we have a larger size trailer (36'). We saw many premium sites with EZ-Up type shelters, as well as tents. The stakes for these were set into the ground outside of the pad, and there was still rook for cars, bikes, and the golf cart. I suppose it is a stretch to set up a tent on the concrete, but then again, an air bed will make the site just as comfortable as if it were gravel.

Thank you so much....I feel alot better about booking the premium site now.
I'm going to check out your pictures also. I'm just having a last minute panic attack because I want everyone to have a great vacation.:dogdance:

Thanks Shan-man...I went on your google earth site (finally figured out how to manouver around) and its fantastic! I checked out all the loops and found alot of really good sites. But as my DH puts it, there really aren't any bad sites at Fort Wilderness. I know I saw your Christmas TR, but I'm going to pull it up again to revisit your decorations.
Thanks Again.
