We have stayed at OKW a few times but have never had a golf course view (always water). While all the views are nice, I would really like to try a nice golf course view, but I do not want to be close to the roads. Last time we were there, we were across the street from units that did have golf course views, but a busy road was right there too. I think that might ruin it for me. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

We have always gotten Golf course views try requeting buildings 24 - 26 or close to HH. The only problems I have had while staying golf corse where in buildings 11 and 12. We could not sit out on deck, golf balls kept bounceing off the table and chairs at least once or twice a day.

we just returned from Bldg 64 last week. We were close to the HH and had a golf course view from our balcony.

The only downside to Bldg. 64 would have been that it had no direct parking lot, however since we didn't rent a car, it didn't bother us.

:scared: And people complain about the possibility of sharks at Vero Beach... sissies.

But did you hear "FOUR!" preceding them?

Oh poor golfers. Just imagine the penalty they had to take for the mis-swing.

We second the building 26 suggestion

Thanks all for your replies! I finally had a chance to get my maps out and I am interested in the building 24-26 area in particular. How are the 1st floor rooms? Are the views okay? We often need to be on the 1st floor and I know with dense foliage the views are often pretty blocked.

Also, how far is it to the main pool? Do you have to trek across that main bridge there? I have always seen people do that and it seems like such a schlep in your wet bathing suits (we will have toddler in tow as well).

Disneyeveryyear, how far was it to get to the pool from building 64? Did the road beyond the golf course bother you? Was it visible or audible?

Has anybody stayed in 47 or 48? Just wondering about that area.

Our last stay was in building 55. It was really nice as we were smack dab next to the quiet pool. We were just hoping for a golf course view this time.

Thanks! I could contemplate this forever and who knows what will even be available when we get there!!!

There's a reason for all the vegetation around the buildings, I've found. We always ask for and receive a golf course view, and many times we've heard golf balls come flying into the palm trees and get caught up in the branches (fortunately). I've got the room reports from OKW, and several people in building 47 reported having great golf course views, also some in 24-26. Our nicest view of the golf course (so far) has been in Building 15.

The pool was maybe a 3 or 4 minute walk at the most. We just walked out of building 64, cut across the parking lot of building 62, crossed the street and we were at the front of the HH (bus stop). Walk between the buildings and you are at the pool.

The road was not audible to us and since it didn't bother me, I didn't spend any time looking for it, lol. We were in room 6424 which is fairly close to the middle of the building.

We also had a very lovely golf course view from a first floor room in bldg. 23 a few years ago. We had no issues with road noise from there either, and didn't have an overgrowth of foliage. We once had a 2nd floor studio in bldg. 23 that you literally could not see through the foliage, so I guess it can be a little hit and miss.

Don't know how many are going, or what size room you'll have, but remember 1 and 2 BRs in bldgs. up to #30, do not have access to the bathroom through the laundry room. Everyone has to go thru the Master Bedroom to get to the bathroom. That may be important to you.

Not EXACTLY accurate information above. The second bedroom certainly has its own very large bathroom. Only those staying in the living room of a 2 bedroom or 1 bedroom will have to access the master bath through the master bedroom in buildings under #30.

From building 24 I'd say it was a 3 minute walk with a 4 year old last time. You do cross the bridge, but it's short, lol! We loved the location, and also loved catching buses on the HH on their way out instead of ever needing an internal bus. Plus, our bus stop at Peninsular Rd. was the first one on the way home. We would request this location again, although the Turtle Pond area looks charming too.

BTW, I have to agree about the first floor units and the vegetation when you are on the golf course. The vegetation really does protect you from some of those duffer's shots! It will always be an issue with first floor rooms most places in the resort. BTW, you have already stayed at one of the best buildings! Some of building 55 has vegetation issues too though.

Thanks Diane, I didn't word it very well. It's only an issue if someone is sleeping in the living room. Thanks for the clarification.

This was our view from the Grand Villa we stayed at in building 48...hopefully I can do this...
