I'm going to be booking (hopefully) a GV for just one night following our cruise in March. Can anyone tell me a good location to request at OKW? We're planning on arriving mid morning.....probably going to just "chill" and hang around the pool for the day; maybe hop a bus to DTD or BW area. So I'd like to get a nice quiet area...not too far from the pool or a convenient bus stop. Nice view would be a bonus (not asking much, eh?? LOL!) Any suggestions??

Thanks for your input!

Sorry I don't know the room number because it was a few years back, but there is GV on Peninsular Road, just a stone's throw from the bus stop. When you are standing at the kitchen sink, the view is of Trumbo Canal. It is relatively close to the main pool. We also stayed in a GV which was at the end (cul-de-sac) of South Point Road which was somewhat less convenient to the bus stop and pool.

If you have not made you reservation for a GV in Maarch by now, I think you may be out of luck. At any rate I doubt someone wanting a GV for only a day would be given any consideration as to location. I would call today and just see if any are available.

We stayed in a GV on Old Turtle Pond Road - Building 43, I believe. We thought that it was a great location - just across the street from the Turtle Pond pool and around the corner from the bus stop.

Pa@okw95:

Thanks for the concern...however, I already called and was told there were several available for my time frame (lucky me!) :sunny:

We had a GV in the Southpoint section a few yrs back. Think it was bldg.53 (maybe #5322?) Sorry, can't remember for sure. It had a decent view of the golf course if memory serves and wasn't too far from the SP bus stop...a little of a walk to the SP pool but not bad. The view and location to the bus stop was nice though.

I forgot to add that our view had a pond right outside of the balcony with a golf fairway just beyond that. Very relaxing!

Pluto4Pres,

Thank you for the link to the map. We will be staying in a GV at OKW in August and the only request we made was non-smoking. So it's good to see that there is only one building that is smoking for the GV's.

Thanks for the link to the map. I fully expect to fall to the floor, arms and legs flailing....banging my fists on the floor.....if I don't get the EXACT room I request! LOL!! :teeth:

Really....after many visits to WDW, the last three as DVC members, I understand completely about the term "room <i>request"</i>!

In any case, I wasn't actually looking to request a specific GV....just wanted to request an area of the resort. Thanks for all the replies!

Stay away from 4922. Unless you want to give us a report on how well kept the room is... now. :)

Yeah, if they didn't thoroughly clean or replace that couch it'll be ripe in there :earseek: :earseek:

Okaaaaaaayyyyy....I must have missed this story.....???

Thanks to the OP for the post and to Pluto4Pres for the map. We'll be in a GV in May for a week and I was planning on posting the same question as my trip grew closer.
