Hi All,

Off to VWL in 10 days ... wondering if it's possible to get most of my groceries delivered using NetGrocer and picking up the refridgerator stuff en-route, or ordered through VWL. (A major shopping trip with a DS2 the 1st day of vacation is not in my plans!). Any suggestions? What info would I give on my NetGrocer order to ensure delivery? Would all be delivered to our room? (or VILLA!)

Thanks!

Diana

Address the package to you and add the line
"Guest Arriving on XX/XX" as the second address line.

When you check in at the front desk, they will tell you that you have a package waiting for you. I just always have it delivered to my room with my luggage.

Also I would probably place your order 7 days before your arrival date.

I recall last year some discussion about resorts charging a fee to receive a package for a guest.

Does anyone know if OKW, or any of the DVC resorts, charge a fee to receive a package like groceries from NetGrocer?

TIA, Jeff

We were not charged at fee at VWL in November of 2001. Our groceries were delivered to our room with our luggage. It worked out very well. We picked up milk, eggs etc at the Mercentile at the WL. We didn't want to stop at a grocery store on our first trip as DVC'ers. Now that we are more comfortable with things, we plan on stopping at a grocery store on our next trip home!

What is the story with perishables? If we do order them via netgrocer, does BWV have a refrigerator they can be stored in prior to our arrival?

We will probably make a grocery stop anyway, but I was just wondering.

NetGrocer is a website not a DVC service. Everything we ordered came well packed and in perfect shape. I don't believe that they have many perishable items. We ordered mostly canned and boxed items, cookies, snacks and diapers etc.. We did not order bread items. I did read somewhere on this board that some have received moldy bread items through netgrocer. In regards to prices, they were comparable to stores in my own state. If you do stop at the store prior to arrival at your villa, they will store your perishable items. Try a search on Netgrocer, there have been numerous posts on the topic! Have fun!

We had a netgrocer order delivered to VWL for our Christmas/New Years stay. I had my address label just as mentioned above and I faxed a note to VWL letting them know that this package was coming. I forgot to ask about it at check-in, so I called when we got to our room. The package was no where to be found. After several phone calls back and forth (not what I wanted to be doing on my first day there) it was determined that the package had indeed been delivered (the front desk manager had seen it the day before when she was working) but had been sent to the kitchen!! Anyway, they contacted netgrocer (with my permission) to get a copy of my order. They sent a CM to Publix to duplicate my order. Not everything was exactly as I ordered, but close enough. It wasn't until our 3rd day of our stay that we received everything. It was kind of a pain because we had a lot of breakfast and snack foods that we had to buy for days 1 and 2.

dznyacct...

So sorry to hear of that encounter! I checked the FEDEX website and tracked the delivery of our package. It showed the CM's name that signed for it. I then called VWL before arrival to make sure that my package was received. It seems as if a CM made a big mistake by sending your package to the kitchen! Why the kitchen??? That's weird. I never heard anyone have that problem before. I am glad they found your package and went to Publix for you.

We made sure our arrival date and reservation # were on the package. When you type all your arrival info onto the screen on the Netgrocer site, it can be a bit frustrating. They don't give you much room to fit all the important info. You have to be creative with the space they give you.
