Need MP3 advice please....

Sears is going to have a Sandisk for 59.99 after rebates tomorrow (if we can get one) my question is Circuit City has one but different model for 64.99. Can someone tell me the difference in these and which I would need for my 9 yr old son. Also it says 8 hr of MP3 and 16 hrs WMA....what does this mean?

Actually I had the same dilemma as you last weekend. Reserved the (first) one at Circuit city and the other was on sale when I went in, so I picked up and returned the first and bought the second.

Why -- because the e140 lets you expand the memory, and thus the quantity of songs available for listening, through SD cards. For example, a 512MB card gives you double the original capacity for about half of the cost again of the player - cheaper than if you bought a 1GB player. Cards are coming down in price, so maybe even a 1GB card eventually would be an option for you.

Both have FM tuners, so you can listen to the radio if you need/want to. The first one supposedly lets you "record from radio to memory", but DD hadn't indicated that as being important, so I went with the expandable memory. The first one will only ever be 512MB.

If your songs are formatted as MP3s, the player will hold up to 8 hours of music. If your songs are formatted as WMA, then it will hold up to 16 hours of music.
