Need Mattress Opinions

I am in desperate need of a new mattress set but I don't want to spend a fortune on them. I bought my current mattress set about 10 years ago and they were extremely cheap (you get what you pay for but I was 20 at the time and nothing really made me sore but sadly that is no longer the case. I think I really want something like a tempurpedic..I did consider something like the select comfort beds but I just don't want the added worry of air liners leaking or air pumps going out and I think memory foam has less that can go wrong with it. So my main question is are tempurpedic's worth their extremely high cost? If someone has bought some other brand of memory foam that is much cheaper and think that it is just as good as the name brand I would love to know about them. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Last month we purchased a Beautyrest Plush. It's truly wonderful! We found it at "Sleep Experts," who, by the way, has great prices! What ever you do, please look at it as an investment, because it is, and please don't just buy whatever is inexpensive, because you'll be sleeping on it for the next 10 years. We looked at the Termpurpedic, but being foam, they sleep really hot, and we just can't do that, plus, the price is really steep!
