Hi All,
I am trying (again) to plan a trip for Oct for myself and DH. He has mobility issues and we are trying to figure out the best way to get around.
We will likely be staying at SSR, since it worked out well for us last time being able to drive up and park next to the entrance of the building. I am trying to decide between bringing his transport chair and renting an ECV at the parks, or renting an ECV for length of stay.
He can walk for short distances. For example, last year he did okay walking around DTD if I dropped him off at the curb, we sat awhile, etc. However, to go to the parks he will definitely need the ECV.
One issue w/renting the ECV for the entire trip is he is concerned about my being able to assemble/disassemble and lift the pieces in and out of the car. Truth be told, that kind of worries me too (I have done research about the logistics of this and I'm still not sure if I could handle it).
So I thought, if we bring his transport chair, could I use it to get him into the parks from the lot to the rental counter, and then rent the ECV and leave our chair with them for the day? Or will they not hold it for us?
any thoughts or assistance with this would be greatly appreciated!
