Well to put things simply---I have not been to Disnyland since the time of the A B C D E Tickets back in the late 70s. Thanks to the Army we are in CA now just 2 hours away in the Mojave Desert and plan to go to Disneyland with other people on post---you know tour thing, we pay $13 total for the bus ride down and back and get to spend 8 hours in the park. Luckily we also get a discount on our tickets.
Now my question,, what can I NOT MISS or DO.

We have already done DisnyWorld back in June 2000 and I don't want my family to be to dissappointed.

Thanks
Amber

I'm writing this under the assumption that you will be spending the day only in Disneyland and not California Adventure (which I'm sure you will get to visit another time!)...

I don't think your family will be disappointed at all, DL really is unique. The only thing that MIGHT be disappointing is the castle, which is much smaller than the one in WDW, but this castle does have some special features that are different.

As far as rides go, you MUST do Indiana Jones, which is unlike anything at WDW. It uses the same technology as Dinosaur in AK, but Dinosaur is not nearly as good as Indy. Also, hopefully the Matterhorn rehab will be done by your visit...that is completely unique to DL, another must do. Space Mountain is also quite different. If you're planning on a sit-down meal, go to Blue Bayou for lunch. Make a ressie at City Hall or at the restaurant as soon as you get there.

Have a great time!

Disnee Dad Says...................................You may want to consider gettiing AP's. If you took the time to find this board there is a good chance the "magic" will return to you on your next trip.
That first trip will be expensive, but wow, look at future trips.
Breakfast at home, gas maybe $20, lunch counter service $30, snacks $10, dinner at home. A day at Disneyland for five for $60??? And Ap's are good for both parks!
My top five not to miss.
1. Pirates. It's twice as long as WDW.
2. Blue Bayou. You can eat where Pirates starts, fantastic!
3. Indiana Jones, WDW has nothing like this.
4. Matterhorn, unique to Disneyland
5. If you missed Fantasmic at MGM, then see it at DL.

Disnee Dad, I was part of this board back in 1999 when I first started getting ready for our big trip to WDW and its great to finally find it again.
As far as Fantasmic we did get to see it at WDW. Thanks to this board that night was great. We had a private pontoon boat to see Tapestry of Nations and the Reflections of Earth show then they dropped us off at the MGM dock to go see Fantasmic.
Being with the current threat of war it is only feasible to get APs for me and the kids as we don't know when my husband will get orders.
Thank you for the suggestions. I will have to try them all.:bounce:
And I will have fun doing them also

Amber
