We are going to WDW in June and need help with some questions on the following 3 resorts: 1) Vistana Village 2) Marriot Grande Vista 3) Hilton Grand Vacation Club. It will be me, DW, and 2 DS (9/6). I want a good place for kids(pools and activities), closeness and ease of getting to WDW, and washer and dryers in room. We are staying 7 nights. I want to find the best deal. Where can I find the best timeshare prices with presentations or rentals. I checked on skyauction but did not see these listed for my dates. One last question, is Vistana two different resorts by different names?

I found the Wyndham Palms Resort on hotelkingdom.com. They rent a 2 BR 2 bath villa for $60 per night for the first 4 nights. Additional nights are $80. Seems like a good price. I'm trying to get recommendations now. One person on another board said it's a beautiful resort. Of course, you have to do their tour of the property.

Good luck!

They have Vistana resorts and Vistana villages. One is older than the other. Never been to either so I can't help you there. If you can't get what you are looking for you might want to try Orange Lake. It's a very nice resort with with quite a few pools. You could probably get from sky auction for a great price. Good luck!

I would really like to find a good deal for Vistana. It sounds great but so far not much luck. Around $95 a night is the best I have found so far, and that is without the timeshare presentation. I don't mind a presentation if I get a good deal.

hi, check hotelkingdom.com for sunterra cypress pointe grand villas i think a 2 bedroom there is like 89.00 a night. book through them to get the great rate.also if you book through them ask for the grand villas they are the newer part of the villas, we were there in september and we loved the place, it is also very close to disney maybe a five minute drive.

Thanks Robinrs!!! Good website...these are the kind of deals I am looking for!!!

We are staying at Cypress Pointe in April and were told the Grandvillas were not an option. This is not true?

Also, in regards to the other resorts. We have stayed at Vistana Villages and they are new and terrific.

We are going to stay at Orange Lake County Club in 2004 and have heard nothing but good things about that resort.

I forgot to add that our family toured Wyndam Palms a few years ago. It is a beautiful resort, that still had heavy construction.

The timeshare tour was extremely high pressure. Our two children, who were almost 4 at the time, were having trouble. The "daycare" at the resort watching them tried to page our "presenter" but he apparently turned his beeper off. We were P'od to say the least.

Then we got the typical timeshare BS as their prices fell from $23,000 to $17,900 to $7,000 for a week. We kept saying no no no. Then we got approached by a manager and a "developer" (both obnoxious and high pressure) before we were finally released.

God Bless anyone that has to endure their tactics. I have heard Westgate is similar in their approach.

We did the tour at Vistana Villages last year. It was low key and we were done in about 60 minutes and we had to drag the kids out of the daycare area because they were having so much fun.

I have never stayed there and I see one negative remark about it but I have seen the Westgate advertised very, very cheap. I believe this was on a link from the go2orlando.com site. I have used this site twice now to book my hotel room and have gotten cheaper rates than anywhere I else I could find.

Kilee, be careful with Westgate. All their resorts have had wildly varying reviews. Some people love their resorts and some have told horror stories.

Coachv, Vistana Resort is older, located about a mile+ from Downtown Disney, down the street from the Crossroads Shopping Center. Some sections are at least 15 years old, so more spacious and less luxurious than the newest sections. Cascades is newest, so request that section if you choose this resort. The resort is very spread out and large, with many pools and sports amenities from which to choose.

Vistana Villages is a brand new property by the same developer. This one is much smaller, with one main pool area (reportedly nice with a waterfall and zero-depth entry edge for the little ones) and fewer onsite amenities, no restaurants. The rooms are supposedly lovely.

Vistana Villages, Marriott Grande Vista and Hilton Grand Vacation Club are all located along the same stretch of South Int'l Drive - a good area with wide commuting roads and reasonably little traffic. Of the 3, VV is the smallest & closest to WDW (though only by a bit), MGV & HGVC are a bit more upscale with more pool and play opportunities and MGV has a golf course onsite. SkyAuction would never list MGV because it is associated with RCI resorts and MGV only trades via II, the other timeshare exchange company. HTH.

Oh I'm not going there. It keeps poping up everytime I search for hotel rooms. Also, on our trip last April, everytime you set foot in the hotel lobby you were asked if you wanted to take a tour. My husband and I look to cut costs everyway we can, but I'm just not willing to waste an entire vacation morning.

the Marriott Grande Vista is beautiful - very nice - and the timeshare presentation was very low key (well mind was).

If you like Disney's Old Key West - you will like Marriott's Grande Vista.

I think I still have some information I could mail you if you like.

If you like your peace and quiet don't even consider Westgate - those people NEVER leave you alone - I don't like to hounded on my vacation. and I own there (well I am trying to sale - so maybe I should make it sound great - but that would be dishonest)

the Westgate resorts are generally lovely - if you throw all the saleman away if would be a great resort.

I personality thing that Westgate generally wants something to be wrong - this is mainly the second bathroom - it is either dirty or the shower doesn't work or something little - so that you can complaint in the management meeting (or housekeeping or whatever they call it) - this is a sales meeting and get very - very - agressive. Don't go!

I just used the TUG owner referral and got the Sheraton Vistana for a GREAT rate! Works out to be 4 days for around $65 per day. My existing reservation at SVR was at $86 per day on the government rate plan. (Right now the Sheraton reservation site has the government rate at $149). So I'm saving about $100 from my original reservation and will just have to sit throught their 90 minute presentation.

The secret of making Westgate work is to stay at the OTHER Westgate. Weirdly enough there is no so called breakfast meeting to assess your unit when you use II to switch over.

That said...I love Westgate...the only problem I have is the ridiculous breakfast meeting targeted towards getting owners to buy more. The sales pitch is so heavy that Westgate has a bad reputation...I can't imagine how that is helpful for them.

The main bad things I've seen about Westgate has to do with the sales pitch
