Hi and thanks for taking the time to help me with my question. My family and I just got back from Disney on the 21st of July and we were there for 2 weeks. We had planned this trip for 2 years and we were a grand gathering, :grouphug: It was truly wonderful! We stayed at the All star Movies since there were so many of us, it was the best for the money and time. But we did have one problem and I am still upset about it. When we checked in we were told that we were able to charge on our room key $500.00 and then they would charge the card and thee would be no problem, it would just keep being charged at that dollar amount. Well about a week into the trip we were at dinner and we used the key and it was declined, I knew it was NOt out card and they even told us that "it was Disney that declined us" so we paid for dinner in cash and I was so upset that I left the park and went back to the resort to figure this out and infact they had not been charging my card at every $500.00 they were letting it build up and they didnt know why??? So I made them clear the charges, ( they had charged some but not every time) and we were promised it would not happen again... Well it did not once but twice and on the last day we were there they decided to bump my limit on the card to $1,500.00.
So here is my question, my DH has been on this site more than me and he say some where that each resort has a certian amount that they give to there guest for charging, value 500.00 moderate 1000.00 and delux 1500.00 is that true??:confused3
I am just looking for an answer, my family had no problem paying for the vacation but I was made to feel embarrassed when these issues happened and they were not once due to an issue with our credit card it was the resort who did not do there job on clearing my card.
We had a wonderful trip and we are actulally going to go back in April 19-27, we got annual passes and want to use them again:woohoo: Im sure Ill be posting for room discount info later... Thanks for reading and any answers will be appreciated. Every one have a great day and keep feeling the Disney magicpixiedust:

I can confirm that the DVC resorts and deluxe resorts charge your credit card at the 1500.00 price point.

Yes that's true. It doesn't make much sense though. Does Disney think that a value guest will pay less for food so they don't need a higher limit? :sad2:

Think of a higher upper limit on room charges as just another amenity. Does Disney think that people staying at Value resorts wouldn't like a pool slide? Does Disney think that people staying at Moderate resorts wouldn't appreciate room service beyond pizza delivery? Does Disney think people at Values don't need coverings over their bus stops?

The higher the level of resort, the more amenities there are. A higher upper limit on a room charge is an amenity, one that gets "better" with each successive level of resort.

If the OP was told that they would auto charge the CC on file when the limit was reached, where is the benefit. Seems like more work for everybody. :confused3

This happened to a friend of mine in June. They reached their $500.00 limit but they were not keeping track so when they tried to pay for something they were declined. They just called the resort from the park and they went ahead and charged the credit card and cleared the room key so they had another $500.00.

When we went last night was paying our charges off with Reward dollars and Disney dollars. I didn't want them to charge the credit card when we hit $500.00 so I made a stop at the resort desk every night and paid off our balance. Worked out well.

Thanks every one for answering back, it does not seem right to me either about the amount of credit each resort would give to the guest, but I will watch it more when I get there in April.
Looking forward to the next trip!!:thumbsup2
