In May we will be traveling with my mother-in-law, who has had knee replacement surgery and has a very bad back. She has obtained a temporary handicap parking permit for our trip to reduce the amount of walking (and we will be bringing a wheelchair as well). I know that there are handicap lots at each of the parks, but what about the resorts? (We are staying offsite, but have PS ressies for some of the resort restaurants.) Can someone fill me in on what to expect at the resort lots? What about valet parking? Is it free for guests with disabilities?

At the resorts I would just valet park. If you have a handicapped hang tag it is complementary. You should have no problems.

I have a handicapped parking permit & have had no problems valet parking at WDW resorts. It is complimentary with the handicapped tag. We tip when we leave the car & when we pick it up.

We valet parked too. They even offerd to help us (2 able bodied adults) get DD's wheelchair in and out of our van.

The charge for valet parking does not go to the valets, and they are "tip positions". With a handicap hang tag, or if there is a wheelchair or ECV there is no charge for the parking. However, I will routinely tip $2.00 both in and out. Also, if they assist is removing/assembling or disassembling/packing the ECV I will tip $5.00.
