We have an older (2mp) Kodak Easyshare that we can't use the docking station with anymore. It won't sit right or charge on it. I was wondering if it will take a charge by using a usb cord directly with the computer - or is the usb just to download? The camera does have batteries, but I thought that the docking station also was a charger? Can anyone help? Do I have to buy a cord to charge it? If so, it would probably be just as well to buy a new camera. I really just wanted to use this camera for work. I occassionally need to take photos & my employer won't cut loose of any money for me. We already have a couple, but I want to be able to HAVE one at my disposal and not worry about it being out of the office when I need it. Thanks.

Does the docking station have a power adapter? If so, then I would say that it would not charge through USB only. That does provide power, but I do not know if it provides enough to charge a camera. If there is a power adapter, see if it will plug directly into the camera.

There is a power cord that plugs into the docking station and the power cord doesn't fit directly into the camera. The camera does, however, have batteries. I don't know if that means anything, though.
