I'm planning on staying at the Nick hotel for 1 night in May. First, I'm looking for reviews. Second, I am paying allot for 1 night. I booked a 2 bedroom kidsuite for $175 per night. Is this too high? Does anyone know any codes that will help lower this amount?

this was Holiday Inn Family Suites on US 192 right?

I think that is alot of money - for off season. You can generally get a Universal Hotel - Royal Pacific for that amount of money.

I'm not sure where this hotel is in Orlando. But the rooms are suites that were themed after Nick cartoons. I think this hotel was once a Holiday inn.
I already have the Royal pacific booked for 4 nights at $175 per night. My 8 year old really wants to try this hotel, so I figured we could test it out for one night. I just hope I can get that rate down. $175 is way to high.

Yeah, my DD saw the commercial and wants to stay there too.

Does seem like a lot. I can't seem to justify it, especially since we're buying into DVC.

Anybody have any comments on this place?

I know nothing about the hotel but i looked at the website after seeignthe commercial on nick. I dont think i would like to stay there but i think my kids would love the character meals there. I dont think all the construction is done. Most the pics on the website are artist renderings.

I stayed at this hotel in November. We really debated on whether to stay there or not due to the price and that is before it went up.

I felt it was the next best thing to staying on site. It was a "happy" place. Some other hotels we looked at were just hotels with nothing to do but a puny pool and no atmosphere. This place just felt good.

I like that you could walk under covered walkways anywhere. There were several food choices. The game room was nice. There were video games to rent for in room. The pool was nice for my 5 yr old and it we be awesome when the change over is made to the nick hotel. The staff was very very professional and any need we had was met immediately.

The hotel in my opinion was very close to Disney and we did not get in any traffic coming or going. I don't know what you get for the money at the Royal Pacific. The 2 bedroom will have the 1 room with a king ( I think) and the curtained room with the Nick theme. I actually slept in that room with my son. We had other family with us as well. You get a half size fridge and microwave with the 2 bedroom. We had a 3 bedroom and had a full kitchen.

I don't know what it would be like to just stay there for one night. There was a lot to do. There is a nice pond with lights in the evening to relax by. You can feed the ducks and swans. When we were there they had magic shows, bingo, etc in the evenings. I don't know if that will continue with the new format or not.

So, I would really rather stay on disney property for that kind of money but otherwise it is a fun place to stay. If your 8yr old likes to swim it looks like that would take up your whole time there. Maybe when it gets closer you can find a discount code. I bet they don't have any now since it is the new theme and they will wait to see how many full price bookings they can get.

Hope that helps. I'm sure I can answer more questions if you have them.

No - this hotel is located on International Drive SOUTH. Right near the corner of SR535 and SR536 ~ literally minutes from Disney. You are about 5 minutes to DTD and around the corner from the Buena Vista Outlet Mall.
Great location! :flower1:

We are staying there in January at a rate of $114 per night for a 2 bedroom kid's suite. Remeber though that we are arriving before the conversion is complete. We are however staying in the Jimmy Neutron suite. Your rate seems high to me for an off season off Disney site hotel.

We stayed there for 8 days in december and for the 76$ per nite we paid, i was satisfied, but for 175$? No way. That's way to much money, try the Holiday inn Nicki bird or something, it really is so not worth that much money for one night. You could try Hotel Kingdom and see if you can get a better rate. The new, big pool is open and it is a lot of fun but still not worth that much for a night. The rooms are smallish, tho kept very clean and the staff are very nice, especially Snapshot the face painting clown but again i would not pay that much to be there.

PS: Unless they revamp the whole restaurant before you get there, it is LOUSY and very reminiiscent of your worst cafeteria food of your youth.

We are staying there in March for $138. They said we got that rate for being return guests....It used to be the Holiday Inn Familty Suites and we've stayed there a number of times. My kids have always loved it and we've usually paid $99 with an Entertainment card. I am not thrilled about paying $138, but my kids are dying to stay there now that it will be a bit different. The renovations are supposed to be done in May and maybe that's their grand re-opening so maybe they have no good deals then. Try asking for an Entertainment rate or a AAA rate and see if they are available.

I have to say that having a suite is much better than a one room hotel room, but there are other suite hotels that are cheaper than $175!

We're staying there for two nights in July before moving to YC and GF in Disney. I know it's overprice, tacky and probably gaudy but my kids are dying to stay there because of all the commercials on Nickleodeon. We're paying $200 a night. I think my DH will have to wear sunglasses the whole time because it looks like a neon disaster - what you do for kids.

It was the Holiday Inn Family Suites and I've stayed there at least 10 times in past few years. It's perfect for my family grandparents, siblings and the little ones. We loved the kids pool before and can't wait until they finish the new Nick themed pool!
The rate does seem high for that time of year and I'm guessing that it's right after the construction is scheduled to be complete and there is a high demand. Have you tried calling the hotel directly and asking what their lowest rate is? They usually have discounts for AAA or the entertainment card. I just got a construction discount for the beginning of Feb and will be paying $99 a night.

Is the pool done does anyone know? I was thinking of taking DS at the end of April, but want to know what will be finished by then.

We stayed there as the Holiday Inn Family Suites for $103. And my kids loved it. They wanted to spend more time at the hotel. I don't know what they've taken away. But my kids loved the main pool (of course before conversion it was even fun then), The pool had lots of group activities, they also loved watching the large screen TV's while have breakfast in dining room playing, the train ride, the themed bedroom and bunk beds and having their own TV.
I loved the price, I loved each of us having our own rooms with our own TV's, the locations was close to Disney and the free Breakfast (which will end soon).

I believe any changes will probably make things better more updated and even more fun for kids (except for no more free breakfast). If you want those things it might be worth the extra money.

I called today for a reservation. I believe it is still a Holiday Inn property, just with a fancy name. That means you might get a better rate by going to www.holiday-inn.com and searching for Lake Buena Vista.

We've stayed there twice before. If I can get a good rate we'll stay again. You can't beat the location for an offsite property. It is so close to DTD and Epcot, that you can see the tips of Epcots fireworks at night. We were there last Feb, and took a peek into one of the new rooms....great theaming. I don't think I'd pay $175 though...for that price, I'd get 2 rooms at a value resort (we are a family of 5, so that limits our choices).

I dont know if i will stay there but i think my kids would love the character breakfast there! Spongebob Patrick Dora nad Boots! The kids will be in heaven.

We just booked for two nights. I thought it was expensive $170.00 a night. But the theme rooms look great and it just sounds like a fun hotel. Does anyone know if they offer any specials or discounts there? We are planning for September so I have time. I did get a aaa discount when I called so I know they offer that.

Thanks! :D

I booked 1 night at $175. But I can get the Royal Pacific for the same amount and would have Front of the line at Universal with my rrom key. I'm really hoping for a promo at the Nick hotel.
