Not sure where to post this, but this board made the most sense.

I bought some really cute kids watches to put up on eBay..but I'm a little confused as to why they are Disney watches. They say Disney Kid on the packaging, and have the Disney copyright mark, and say manufactured exclusively for Disney, and I'll try to describe the watches. I'll appreciate any info, as I don't want to put them up as Disney watches, without having some background.
The first one has a Blue's Clues wrist band (blue wrist band with darker shade of blue paw marks)..but Blue's isn't a Disney Character, so I'm confused.
The second one has a red and black plaid wristband with a scottie dog on it, and two scottie's and a dog bone going around as the second hand.
On the next two, the hands say hour and minute on the actual hands. One has stars and a rocket on the wrist band and a patch that says Rocket Man. The other has a yellow dump truck on the face, and a stop sign on the wrist band, with arrows, like you would find on the street. They all have 10, 20, 30 minutes, etc, as if they were for teaching kids the time. Are these perhaps cartoons form the Disney chanel? Is Blue's Clue's on the Disney chanel? I would appreciate any info, so I can put these up on eBay.

I got my daughter a Disney Kid's watch at Target. Don't know WHY it was called Disney...had nothing to do with it. M They may be like the Kmart clothes that say Disney, some of those don't have anything Disney related on them. Be careful how you word that on Ebay...I can seem some disappointed buyers.

That's why I'm asking about them..so I can give good info on eBay. I will be very careful how I word it. The Blue's Clue's will make for happy kids...and I will have a picture, as well.

I would put the "Disney Kids Watch" in the title so it is clear and then make sure you give a good explanation of what the watch looks like and a picture.

I think as long as you explain what the watches look like and ship them in the original "Disney Kids" packaging, you will not have a problem. They are what they are - and that's what you're telling any buyers by being descriptive.

Good luck with your sales.

Blues Clues is Nickelodeon, and I think that watch would be better associated with Blues Clues than with Disney Kids. A fan of Blues Clues is not going to look under Disney.

Each of the watches will have the full descriptions, so anyonedoing a search will have it show up under Blues Clues as well. But I'm really wondering why Disney is making these watches, and what the others mean. Tose with young children..do the scottie dogs, the rocket man, or the yellow dump truck, point to any other cartoons? Thanks.

Just a bump to see if anyone knows what the watches stand for..the scottie, the dump truck and the rocket. I know the one is blues clues.

Are you going to post a picture of the watch??

I have seen Disney kids watches but they are not disney characters.

the blues clues one, is a bit odd...does it actually say blues clues on the watch or does it just "look like" blues clues??

Yes, I'll be posting the pics on eBay. I'll prob wait til October, when items that make good presents show up and do well.

It doesn't say Blues Clues...but it is it..not just looking like it. Someone told me that Blue's is on the Disney cartoons (whenever or whereever that is on), and that this may be "advertising" more or less for the Disney cartoon chanel.

The scottie dogs and the rocket don't ring any bells- but the dump truck might be a 'Bob the builder' item?
However- Blues Clues and Bob the builder are Nickelodeon - not Disney

Could the rocket be Rolie Polie Olie which is a Disney show? Other possibilities that come to mind: Jimmy Neutron and Lilo and Stitch.

You can verify that Catsmom and I correct about Blues Clues by going to the Nickelodeon website. My kids have been big Blues fans, and it's most definitely never been a Disney show.

I think you misunderstood what I was asking for :D I don't believe I stated anywhere that Blue's was a Disney show. In fact in my first note, I said Blue's isn't Disney. I certainly know it's owned by Nicholodeon. I said that someone told me Disney owned a cartoon station, and maybe that's why they are selling different watches (I'm assuming here..but wouldn't Disney have cartoons other than Disney on a cartoon station?). I wasn't trying to make anyone verify anything, or doubting anyones word. I'm trying to figure out why these are called Disney watches, when they obviously have other than Dis characters on them. If I thought they were Dis characters, I wouldn't have even have posted..I would have listed them as such. I don't believe any of these are actual Dis chatacters..I'm pretty familiar with those.

I was curious about your watches since I have seen Disney Kid brand sunglasses that didn't look a whole lot different than any other non-Disney kid's sunglasess. Like ceecee posted:

I also just think it's using Disney as a brand name - sort of like Radio Disney doesn't play only Disney songs.
I did find a website that looks like it has those watches. If you clik on the watch picture, it shows a good, large pic of the watch. The one that you think is Blue's Clues sounds like the one they label "Animal Paw Easy Read" and the scottie dog design is on the same page. The dump truck watch is on the next page, caled "Road Sign Time Teacher". The rocketship watch is on the 3rd page of watches.
I don't think the watches are referring to any particular character. They just look like appealing designs that kids would like. The site I found was listed as LORUS USA (the company that makes most of the Disney character watches), so if they were specific characters, I think it would say. IMHO, I would not list them in the title as Disney Kids watches because people would expect Disney charcters. I would list in the description that the brand of the watches is Disney Kid and that they are cute designs kids would like and then describe the design.

Thank you!! This is just what I was looking for. These are the watches. Much appreciated.
