Need Inf On Child Swaps

My neice will be going to WDW, she has three children two will not be able to do any of what I still call E rides. Space,Splash, Big Thunder Mountains,Tower of Terror, R&RRC, Test Track, MS.ect. Her third DD loves these rides as does her DH and self.
What I need to know is how each ride does this child swap at Big Thunder my DS changed his mind just as we where to ride CM let me step over to exit side and when DH finished the ride I was then able to ride. Since this happened at last min wasn't sure If all five would have to go thru lines then have to wait or if they have a better system so the babys wouldn't have to be in line. Any information will be helpful.

We have two kids who are tall enough, but DS is still not tall enough for R&R (he MAY make space mt. this trip). When we have a ride he can't do, we ask for a baby swap pass--if it's a fastpass ride they just give me a fastpass--DH then rides with the girls, comes off, and then I go through the fastpass line--often with the girls who get to ride twice. Actually DD#1 said she'll regret when DS is tall enough because her days of two quick rides will be over!
Some attendants will give DH a pass when he tells them he needs one, but last summer one of the R&R CM's would not give him a pass until she actually saw DS. He had to come over and get us because we were already encamped in our usual waiting spot.
We also used this once on Kali River Rapids because DD#2 does not like to get wet--DH rode with DD#1 and DS, then I rode with just DD#1.

We have found the baby swap to be very inconsistant from ride to ride and even from day to day on the same ride. Best way we have found to avoid unnecessary lines is to just ask before you enter the standby line or get a fp.

Ask the CM at the entrance to the ride and also tell the CM's at the start area of the ride that you are child swapping - the procedure varies as noted by others

Make sure the kids know you are coming back too!

Thanks everyone I will pass on inf to my neice. I'm sure asking CM at entrance to the line will be best. It's been so long since I had small children and only two adults I wasn't sure what I should tell her.
