I know I have read here before that some of you have surprised your kids with a trip and I want to hear how you surprised them.

I need ideas on how to surprise my DD's they are 11 and 15 so they are old enough to figure stuff out or at least a fun way to tell them.

I am really bad at coming up with clever ways to surprise people ... with anything. I tend to mooch off of others. :rolleyes1

A guilty pleasure of mine is watching YouTube vids of how parents have surprised their kids with a WDW trip. You might get some ideas there.

I remember when I was younger my parents did a scavenger hunt around our house. I wasn't able to read so my brother had to and my parents made us take turns finding the clues. It ended up being in the oven in a pizza box and I think we where leaving that weekend. Another Idea I did for my husband I did the whole scavenger hunt thing but at the end there was a basket full of items that had to do with vegas (because thats where we where going) and also this way you have a jump start on souvenirs before you go. Good luck!

We were taking our kids for my daughters birthday and told them they would be early check out because one child had their annual check up. We showed p at school with car packed and surprised them. They thought they were going to the doctor. They loved it. That being said I have so much fun planning and counting down for a trip with them that will probaby be our only surprise.

We did the same thing. Then I told my DD that I forgot her insurance card at home and we had to run in and get it before her appointment. Here is the video

That being said, we won't do another surprise again. It was fun for a couple of minutes but overall she's a child who needs to be part of the planning. She ended up being overwhelmed for 6 days straight. And she had been to Disney plenty of times before.
