Ok, I'm starting each of my kids 4H scrapbooks... I can be caught up by the weekend....If I can get some ideas/suggestions on some pages..

What I want to do is divide the book into years.. so the year will only show those projects they worked on or exhibited this year...
What can I do to decorate those pages... I don't just want the numbers slapped on there... and I know for a few of the years, I have t-shirts that I could do a opening title page in the theme of the fair that year..
One year was Christmas at the Fair... (oh, I have photos of that summer where.. where?) One was something about "Rockin' at the Fair" the 50's was the theme.. and the fair last year was.... and the fair this year was 4H around the World..
Any creative ideas for me...

Thanks for putting your thoughts in on this!!! :)

For the 50's I just got the QK car that just came out this month that I could fix for you.....and the 3D glasses.

If there is anything from the My World cart you would like, let me know, I have that.

How many pages are you going to do for each year?

If it were a 2 page spread for each year...you could do a 12 inch 0 on one side and the other number like 7 on the other......that's a thought

You could also print the years in different fonts and sizes all over the sheet ( I cut it to fit in the printer and then use that to cut out tags, etc.

Are they the kind of ideas you are looking for or am I on the wrong bunny path?

So, each child will have their own book? Each book will feature Xnumber of years that the child participated in the fair? So each book will have a different number of layouts?

Do you want the books to match each other? Say the "Rockin'the'Fair" layout will have the same feel, just different pictures for each book?

Do you want the layouts to match each other? Title to the side, one big picture of "the" child in the middle, three small pictures to other side, same embellishments; for each year?

I will look at the My World cart tomorrow... and let you know...
I was thinking of doing a car.. and than doing a 50's girl and boy... if I could find some way to make a coat look leather... and a poodle skirt for the girl...

I want the title/year page to be one page.. and than each exhibit will have one page... it's the title page I'm really going for...

As for each kid... I will do a variation of the title page for each kid... other wise the exhibits have always been different for each kid.. For instances I have a photo of DS working on his collections, a photo of his exhibit @ the fair, and than I have a few basketball cards to include...

Ok, I better go... gotta room to clean before bed... and make sure school clothes fit and add to the list..

Thanks everyone for the input.. keep them coming!!!

Okay. Idea for the 50s car. I could do the pieces from the QK and you could enlarge them on a copier and put them together that way. I could make a color copy of what it is suppose to look like and send with it. There are several cute QK dies from the 50s that came up ....maybe if you copied those and enlarged them ,,,,it would give you some ideas.

Instead of a leather coat....could you get some pleather and cut it with a sizzix die or by hand using a coat pattern.

Ohhhh, you could make a photo mat look like tha back of a leather jacket and how the people used to write their gang name on the back - you could write the event name and put a small picture in the middle. ... if you need some small deco accents, I'd be glad to fix you some 3D glasses and some cars.

Maybe the girls on the board can figure out how to make a poodle skirt girl from the paper doll cart.

You're on a spending hiatus too right? Cause if not Joann's has a great paper that looks and feels like fauz leather. I cannot remember how much it was.

I'm on a swapping hiatus... my spending hiatus is more like a minimal amount in cash.. I don't take my checkbook or debit card in w/ me.. I make DH or one of the kids hold it til I get out of the store!! DH loves the idea!!! ;)

Susie, PM me the link... I may take you up on the car offer!!! ;) I'm loving it.. I thought about putting the year in RECORDS hanging down from the top of the paper...

sorry off topic, i know....but susie you have a new avatar!!?? i like it!

back to regular programing!

I was just in a heritage file swap for my craftrobo. I have an outline of fifties dancers and the girl has on a poodle skirt. You could just use the outline or you could take the poodle and put it on a paper dolls with the skirt. I also have a 2 jukebox files, files with a frisbee and gumby (toys of the fifties). I can send any of these to you- just let me know what colors you would like and the approximate size and i can cut and mail it off. (I would probably mail it with my zoo tags and parade swap)

If you want any countries not on the Around the world cartridge I can do those also. It doesn't take too long to trace them and then cutting takes no time at all.

I can see what files i might have for any other themes you remember.

Also the dancers in black will be great.. especially using them as an outline!
Did you need me to send anything down???

I have seen a few 4H themed items at my LSS. I know that I bought the pledge sticker and a neat clover diecut when I helped my niece do her 4H poster for judging. I'm pretty sure they had paper too. I would be happy to pick these up for you if you don't have them in your area.

I love the 50's ideas. I may have to scraplift for DD's drama page, they did Bye Bye Birdie this past spring.

No- I have black paper. How many do you need? I'll just enclose them as your hostess gift.

I need two groups of the 50's dancers!!!
Also, could you whip me up one set of North America and South America like you just did for me? I've got the "Earth" traced and cut...was going to attempt the continents...and laughed at myself!!! Do you remember what size we used?

Thanks Rebecca!!! I appreciate the help!!! LMK if you need anything!!!!
