I have taken each of my four kids to Disneyland alone for their first trip. It has been a really special memory for me...to be able to take this memory snapshot of each of them at the same exact age in the same exact place. I have loved how they have each been different, had different favorite rides that we have gone on 15 times, and seen different things with each of them in charge of their trip. It has also been a lovely chance for me to me all theirs for once (with four kids born in 5 1/2 years this is rare) and to not have to wait their turn. If they want to go on Space Mountain NOW, then we go, we dont have to do Buzz Lightyear next because thats what their brother wants to do, or stop to potty because their sister has to go.
Well I got all misty-eyed that I was starting to plan the last 7th birthday trip and how old they are all getting. ::Sob::
I was whining to a friend who said...hey! Start planning their 14th birthday trips! And a light went off in my head. Because then we could have a 21st birthday trip too! That works out perfectly. Since they are so close in age I can get all the trips done before I move on to the next one.
But where to go? What to do? It doesnt have to be a Disney trip. I already owe the two little ones a trip to WDW in a couple of years, so that wont work for individual trips. It need to be a short trip, week or less.
So I am coming to you creative people to see what you can think of. Who has a great idea?
