need ideas for stashing money away

I'm thinking of saving for a suprise Disney trip next february. I want to stash away money here and there so if I decide to do this it will be available. It needs to be "untraceable". (yes, even from my DH)!
I have an ing account, but that's linked to our checking accounts. (besides that's where I'm stashing for a cruise, which he does know about! LOL) I was thinking of some kind of reloadable credit card. Too bad you couldn't buy tickets from wal-mart because they have those types of cards. I could easily throw $20 or so on one of those whenever I went shopping and nobody would be the wiser.
That's the kind of thing I'm looking for. Does anyone know of anything??????
Or have other "hiding" ideas.

Oh yeah, the reason I want to "hide" the money is so when I approach my husband with the idea (months from now) hopefully I'll already have a chunk of it available.

I did this. but I just booked it. No options for him to sya no. What I did was made payments from the checking account. I do all the bills anyway and Dh has no idea where the money goes. SO for me..it was pretty easy. I just made like 100-200 payments each check and if he had ever asked I would have made up a bill or something.

Buy Disney Dollars. Or get an American Express gift card. Similiar to travelers checks but like a store gift card.

Why not just open a seperate savings account and dump money in there as you see fit? That way it is out of the house and would be available if needed.

Do you have a TDS near you? They sell gift cards.

Just be careful! The Gift Cards that Disney Store sells do not work most places in the Parks. You would be MUCH safer going to the Disney Store to get Disney Dollars (accepted EVERYWHERE at WDW and DL as cash!)

Disney Dollars I like BUT if something did happen and we absolutley couldn't go, I'm kinda stuck.
The AE gift cards, are they reloadable? Like could I put money on it here and there? Where do I get that?

If you have cash available, how about purchasing Traveler's Checks and tucking them away in a safe place? No trace on them unless you report them stolen!!

I know with my checking and savings account I have the option to choose online statements only.

You could get your statements online. Or do what I have done...get them sent to a trustworthy person's house. I had mine sent to my mom's or my neighbor. Once the conceiling was over, I corrected the address. Just a thought. It depends how "sneaky" you want to be about hiding your dough!

I think along the same lines as the AMEX card..you can get prepaid Mastercards at the 7-11. Kind of like a pre paid phone card.

DH and I have separate checking accounts, and he does not open my bank statements. I have been putting money aside in my savings account (it is automatic; my paycheck is spilit between checking and savings and I do not touch savings). When I had enough to pay for the hotel outright, I showed him the $$, then booked the hotel. That's how I got my trip below!! Now I just have to save for park tickets, spending money, food, airline tickets, etc. LOL It's a good thing I have time!

I can't even imagine trying to book or buy an expensive trip or surprise for someone you share a bank account with! Keeping it secret would be so hard!

IIRC, you can "return" Disney Dollars (assuming they're in good shape, and haven't had coffee spilled on them or something ).
