need ideas for highschool graduation gifts - on a budget

Money leis. You can make them for any amount you want. I just googled how to make them to get an idea and then made them my own way. I have made them for as little as $10 and as much as $100.

I have actually never heard of this but it sounds COOL.:thumbsup2

Gift cards and money rule! The money leis sound neat, I'll look into that.

Ooh, I like the $20.13 check idea! I'll have to remember that and the money lei, as we have several friends with kids graduating this year.

I'm a librarian at a K-12 school, and last year we had about 12 graduating seniors. I made them all a "candy boquet." I bought cheap vases, styrofoam for the base, and put candy bars on toothpicks and shish-ka-bob sticks. A couple of them said it was their favorite graduation gift!
Just look them up on Google.

I am fond of Life is Good coffee mug with a check or gift card. The mug is $10 and the message is heartening.

I'm stocking up for a small gift for my kids' friends who are graduating. I'm giving each a covered corningware 20oz mug along with goodies to microwave in the mug - soups, oatmeal, hot chocolates, etc. I thought about having a bit of a make-your-own gift event for them - let them pick the color mug and choose from the various things that they like to make in it. Most of their dorm rooms will have microwaves, so I think this will be useful.

The mugs are $6-8 at Target, then add the goodies and you have a neat $12-15 gift. I'm planning on having a dozen or so of different colors.
