Need ideas for a small inexpensive gift for a school Principal

The Principal at my school will be leaving this year because he and the Superintendent did not see"eye to eye" on things and his contract was not renewed. It was such a complete shock to the whole staff and we are one big family. He has always treated me with the utmost respect and really fought to get me promoted to where I am now. Everyone will miss him tremendously. I just wanted to get him some little good bye gift and I don't know what to get him. I do plan on writing him a letter letting him know how much I have appreciated him.

How about getting all the staff together without him knowing and take a big group picture. Frame it and present it to him along with your card/letter.
He will be able to look back at his fond years with all of you.
