need ideas for 4th of July trip

We live in the midwest and we are trying to think of where to go over the holiday. I looked into Door County Wisconsin, but most everything is booked. Nashville is a thought. Pidgeon Forge was too expensive. Any ideas??

Are you near Branson, Mo? Lots of theaters there. Comedy shows, music etc. Tons of hotels, so you should find one to fit your budget. The amusement park there is called Silver Dollar. (I think). I was there a few years ago with seniors...so no rides for us. I'm sure you can google their official website.
You'll probably call me a fuddy duddy, but the non alcoholic grape juice available at their winery is the best I've ever had.

Just wanted to tell you what else there is to do in Branson. They have another amusement park called Celebration City that is geared around USA, which would be fun for the 4th. They have water park, lake to rent boats and go tubing, medeival dinner like around Disney, go-carts everywhere. IT is a great choice for the 4th. Have fun!

Silver Dollar City in Branson is alot of fun and I think Celebration City would be great for the 4th. Celebration City ends the evening with a laser and fireworks show. Lots to do in Branson. St. Louis would be an option too. I don't know what else you are looking to do but there are a lot of things to do in the St. Louis area. The big benefit of St. Louis on the 4th is no mosquitoes!!!

St. Paul has their Taste of Minnesota festival over the 4th with the Minnesota Orchestra in concert at the State Capital playing in time with the fireworks display. It is crowded but fun.
