I'm trying to think of a getaway to celebrate our 10th anniversary in August. We went to WDW last May and this Feb., so DH said that was our anniversary too. So anything I come up with will have to be on a budget. Does anyone have any ideas of something romantic, relaxing, and kind of cheap? Thanks!

Sorry, I'm not really familiar with your area..

3 day cruises from Fort Lauderdale are always nice though!

How far are you from Norfolk? My mom did a cruise from there to Aruba (no - it was Bermuda) last summer, at what sounded like a reasonable price.

Couple of suggestions:

1. GreenBrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs - My parents went there two years ago and loved it - they have anniversary packages.

2. Mountain Lake Resort in Virginia - where dirty dancing was filmed

3. Roanoke, Virginia - the Hotel Roanoke is very romantic and I love the DT area.

Good ideas! Thanks, we actually got engaged at mountain lake, that may be a good idea. We have stayed at the Hotel Roanoke once with a gift certicate. I used to work in downtown roanoke. I've always wanted to try the Greenbriar. Ok, off to check out some websites.

Also, is a three day cruise worth it, just doesn't seem long enough to me?

Grew up in Roanoke - I love it there. Let us know what you decide - I love hearing others' trip plans! Good luck! Another place might be the Biltmore in Ashville, Tennessee.

Asheville is in NC, Biltmore is there. The Biltmore has a hotel now that's upscale.

There's also the Grove Park Inn (upscale)

Pisgah Inn (on the Parkway) - more affordable than the two above.

I'm considering the Ft. Lewis Lodge (Millboro, VA) for my 20th this fall. Rustic, moderate costs.

Close enough to do a little 'vineyard' touring and the Cass railway ride.

Moving Target in NC
