Need to make a project for my GS(5) school- must use 100 of something - because of some 100 anniversary- Ideas?? need to keep it budget please! Thanks

Are you supposed to make something like a sculpture using 100 of something? Or are you supposed to give the kids something with 100 of something?

If it's making something, can you make a design using mini marshmallows? Maybe a picture your grandson likes.

I assume this is for the 100th day of school.

is this for the 100th day of Kindergarten? when my DD was in Kindy, we had to send in 100 of something for a project they did in class. Since it was in Feb., I sent in 100 conversation hearts :). You can do fruit loops, cheerios, mini-marshmallows. Lots of stuff out there that's cheap.

Are you having to make something at home? If you gave us more info, we can probably help!

pennies
toothpicks
M&Ms
skittles
stickers
sugar cubes
buttons
paperclips

Think about what you already have at home! :)

My kindergartner just counted out 100 soup beans for the 100th day of school.

We've also decorated t-shirts with fabric paint (100 stars).

Oh we did something similar with one of my son's a few years ago. I think we sent in elbow macaroni. In my DS's class, they did what ever "making" of the project in class--we just had to to send in 100 of something.

But if you have to make something at home with the 100---maybe you could make a macaroni necklace with 100 elbow macaroni? Or another type of necklace with 100 of something else (cheerios, buttons, etc)

We did a poster with 100 super hero stickers (bought at the dollar store) that said, "100 Super Heroes for a Super 100th day". One really cute idea was a poster with 100 pics of the kid making faces that said, "The many faces of ________" It was a huge hit!

For dd's 100th day of school we glued 100 shells to a board and covered them with sand. It looked very beachy and didn't cost a dime since I have lots of shells collected from the beach.

I've done four 100 day projects now with my kids. My kids just collected whatever interested them from around the house (that didn't have sentimental value because some of the things fell off by the time the project came home after open house). I tried to get them to do 10 sets of 10 somethings to make it easier. We had stickers, small toys, food items, feathers and other craft supplies.

I say let your child decide what to put on there- it is her project.

When DD19 was in kindy, she made a poster of 100 pictures of her from birth to age 5. It came out so cute! She even displayed it in June for her graduation party.

And this was before digitals, I had to make a collage of a bunch of photos and then color copy them so she could cut them out. Now, it would take less than 1/2 the time.

When DS was in kindergarten, he sent in 100 Gummy Bears. I think DD used Cheerios.

As requested more details- We need to MAKE a project using 100 of something. Thanks so much for all the great ideas so far!!!!

Get a piece of poster board/paper and glue the objects to say '100'. Should work great with:
macaroni
toothpics
pennies
button (if small enough).

Use buttons or macaroni to make a necklace (might need to double up necklace on child).

If you have enough correct size legos, use them to display '100'.

Get a white sheet of paper and a BIG box of crayons... use 100 colors to write '100'.

Get 100 stickers and stick them all of the kids' shirt.

My son was really into Batman so we got a black t shirt and decorated it with 100 Batman symbols in bright yellow puffy paint. It turned out really cool and he wore it until it didn't fit anymore.

When my son's class did this, we chose 100 Lego heads :). They were small and easy to transport to school. And fun!

My dd kindergarten class is doing the same thing. I just sent her to school with 100 m&ms....

One of my boys made a med. cardboard box into a house and covered it with a strand of 100 Christmas lights.
