need hugs

hey all,

sorry to be a huge downer but i could use some hugs.

my cat is dying i've had him since i was 5 years old...his 15th bday is actually on saturday, but he's not going to make it.

he's been sick for the past week and we took him to the vet on tuesday but they didnt really help much. he hasnt eaten or drank anything in the past couple of days and he just stays under the bed all the time.

today he got a lot worse and he is having a lot of trouble breathing, his tongue is hanging out and he's got a lot of mucus around his nose, so that makes it even harder for him to breathe

we're taking him to the vet tomorrow to get him put down because i can tell he's suffering a lot and i just want it to end for him.

again, sorry to be such a downer, but i'm having such a hard time with this

just last year my cat who has been around since I was born had to be put down. it was extremly hard for me and my mom, because she had him over 17 years.
its never easy going through a pet dying. I was upset for quite a wile. but atleast when he goes he will be taken out of his misery.

losing a cat after having them so long is a horrible thing to go through, it happened to me last year (the day before my birthday) and it hit me really hard as he was like a best friend, it still kind of hurts to think about him now but the best thing to do is thing in a postive way somehow, like PosessedEeyore said he won't be in pain anymore.

Pets grow on us and become such a huge part of the family! I don't understand why people Don't cry when their pets die!

My cat died 2 years ago and I was DEVASTATED! They just grow on you and It's so sad not having them around anymore

I truely am sorry for what you're going through. Animals shouldn't die. they're too precious and sweet

My cat had to be put down this past February, also on her birthday. She was eleven. It was tough to say goodbye, but we moved on, we know she's in a better place.

I'm dreading the day that my current cat gets old and sick...

ive had 2 cats die in my life. When the first one died, the other one always looked for the other one. Even a few years after. It would make stupid noises and look around the house. It was really sad. Sorry to hear about your cat.

I know what it's like to have to put your pet down.

For me, two boxers that we had for five years. And a cocker spaniel that we had for 7 years

It's very hard, but brave!
