Need hotel reservation for drive down?

Hi - We will be driving to the world on March 15-16, spending the night somewhere in the Tallahassee/Lake City area, depending on when we leave on the 15th and how far we get before we get too tired.

I'd like to not be tied to a specific hotel in a specific area, as I'd like to go as far as we can before we poop out. However, I definitely don't want to be stuck looking for a non-existent hotel room in the middle of the night.

Do y'all think I need to make a reservation ahead of time, or is there easy availability at the hotels along I-10? Anything reasonably nice and safe will be fine.

I think you will be fine. Lots of nice hotels around Lake City. Or you can just grab one of those booklets they have out in the rest areas, and get a room that way. That is a good way to get a cheap room, and we have always gotten decent hotels that way.
