I need some major opinion inputs! My wedding is coming up next December, and before anyone says anything, yes I know it's a year away, but this is Disney we're talking about. :D Anyway, my fiance and I were trying to decide what to do. We're looking at probably going the week before Christmas (18-25) and we were wondering what all advice there was out there. Right now we're trying to decide between Wilderness Lodge and Grand Floridian. I'm pushing for Wilderness, because $295 is a little much each night. But then again, this is the only thing we're registering for on our wedding. We have everything else. Can anyone help make our decision a little easier? THANKS!

I think it all depends on your style. The GF is definitely a romantic spot for your honeymoon and it has an elegant, refined feel to it. While we've only visited the Wilderness Lodge, I think it would be a terrific spot for a winter get-away. It's decorated beautifully and I love the roaring fire on the main floor.

Tammi has it right - it is a matter of personal style. Husband and I are celebrating our belated honeymoon this February at Wilderness Lodge. It is our favorite deluxe hotel. We especially love it in the winter, sitting on our balcony looking over the rocks and trees, sitting in front of one of the several fireplaces, walking the grounds. Since we are Floridians it is the best way to "leave" Florida without actually leaving. We've been to the Grand Floridian and don't like it as much. It feels more spread out, it feels less laid back, and the decor is a little much for DH. For the amount of money the GF costs, we didn't feel it has the value for what we pay. Decide which style fits the two of you best and then choose from there.

WL is very beautiful & can be romantic too! I saw at least 4 different brides (bridal dress) during our week. Must be a very popular picture spot.

Check out my pictures if you like!

Happy Honeymooning!!

As everyone else has said, it really depends on your preferences. Here's my 2 cents...

If at all possible, I would stay at the resort that would give me and my husband that extra magical feel. Your honeymoon is a one-time event and you want to make it the best you possibly can.

If you can push the limits and stay at the GF this time but probably not in the future, you may want to make this your choice. This resort is absolutely beautiful and, being on the monorail, very convenient.

For our honeymoon, all we could afford was the Caribbean Beach but that was quite fine for us. We had the best time ever (before kids). So, no matter where you stay, I'm sure you'll be happy just to be on your honeymoon.

BTW, you are NOT planning this too far in advance. We planned our honeymoon to Disney 9 months ahead but this past vacation to Disney was planned well over a year in advance. Have fun in your planning and congratulations.
