Hi I am new to the DIS board.. I am trying to plan a vacation May 2006 somewhere around Mem Day. 1DD (9) & 3DS(8,3,1) & DH. Want to stay in Disney having trouble finding place to hold us all comfortably. Some told me to try here and investigate buying points. I have a little idea of how it works but would appreciate any help on how to get this done.

"Buying" points is a big committment and for 40-52 years worth of vacation time.

Do you mean possibly renting points for this 1 time trip next May??

If you are thining of renting points from a DVC member for your trip, you may want to look at the rent/trade board. Here is a link to faq's about the rent/trade board.

It will less expensive to book two connecting rooms at one of the value resorts. Since your children are so young yet, I'm sure Disney will guarantee connecting rooms.

With 6 of you, you'd need a 2 bedroom unit if you rented from a DVC owner.

In May, a 2 bedroom would cost in the nighborhood of $270 per weeknight and about $640 for each Friday or Saturday night. (That is for OKW - the other DVC resorts will be more expensive). I'm sure 2 rooms at one of the value resorts would be a lot less than that - and you may even be able to get a discount for that time.

OR you may want to look into the FW Cabins. They hold accommodate 6 with a full kitchen and may cost more like $175 - $200 per night if you can get a good rate.
