Need help on 144 hr visa to shangahi. We are planning on flying from LA>Canada>Hong Kong>Shanghai>Canada back home to LA. Do you think this would qualify for the free visa?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

the 144hr visa for Shanghai is fine as long as you are within those hours, and not travelling outside of Shanghai. HK they grant the tourist visa when you land, and if you're just changing planes in Canada you might not even clear customs, if you do, I assume it's the granted at landing visa, same as it is for us to go to the States

What nationality are you? I assume American, but it does make a difference.

Yes im American and will only be in Shanghai for four days.

The way I understand it, as long as you don't stop in Hong Kong on your way home from Shanghai to Canada, this routing should qualify for the 144-hour visa.
