my family went on a dc October 2002 and loved it. we want to go again, but was wonder what the differince is between disney and other cruiselines say like carnival. I heard alot of people don't like the carnival cruiseline.

Also i got a quote for a 7night western cruise on October 9, 2004 and it was 2650.31 for 2 adults and dd who will be 6 plus insurance and transfers is this a good deal. if not who should i book my cruise threw.

That is a good quote for the three of you, but it is also value season.

I would stay away from the older Carnival boats and go on the newere ones. The one old Carnival boat out of Tampa here, I have seen horror stories on the local news. The newer ones are less likely to have the same problems.

Sorry that I can't compare the other lines to DCL, b/c my expereince has only been on DCL. Hopefully someone else will be able to give you some imput.

I have never been on a DC trip yet but have been on Carnival three times. My experience has not been good with their boats.
The first one never left the port because of engine trouble however they did refund all our money, gave us a 50% discount on a future cruise and $100 cash.
The second cruise went fine with no problems. The third one was out of New Orleans last December and was a nightmare. First we were 4 hours late leaving the port. Lost electricity at least 4 times and drifted at sea for awhile. Because of both of these delays we only had half the time at Cozumel that we should have. Then when we got back customs was late getting to us and Carnival had shut down everything but one bar and was charging $1.50 for a can of warm soda!

All in all not very impressed with Carnival.

If you are looking into sailing another line, here are a few links that may help:

http://www.cruisecritic.com Great website with boards for each cruiseline and ports.

http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/dcruise/reservations1.html This is the Dreams Unlimited site for other cruise Lines. It is a great place to check rates, and I found their price for my RCCL cruise next Feb to be cheaper than anybody else! Michelle is great to work with too!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=347032&highlight=RCCL here is a link to a recent thread about RCCL in case you are interested in that also.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=332407 Here is my trip review of my DCL trip where I compared my trip with RCCL. I know that is not the cruise line you are currently looking at, but I thought it might help.

Good luck in whatever you decide. As long as you avoid the really old ships, I don't think it is possible to have a bad cruise!
