We are headed out to Universal the last week in March. We were thinking of staying at the Ameriwest hotel. Does anyone know anything about it? I have two teenage boys so we were looking for something with a little extra room. Also, it it worth it to pay for the express passes? Any hints or info that anyone can pass along I would appreciate!! Thanks, Trene:confused3

Are you sure its called the Ameriwest Hotel? Never heard of it and cant find it.:confused3 Could it maybe be AmeriSuites? If that's it there isn't one called West, but they do have a Universal one.

As far as the Express Plus passes, it would be a good idea for your dates for sure since that is spring break/recess in lots of areas. I have seen some recommend waiting to get to the park and checking on crowds. I dont think that would be wise for your dates since it could be sold out at that point. Let us know about the hotel name!

Okay, I got the name of the hotel wrong!! Stupid me, forgive my old-timers minute!! The hotel is called AmeriSuites Orlando Universal. Does that ring any bells? :crazy2: Thanks for your help!!

The Amerisuites hotel is great, and they recently painted it.
Here's my page from a couple years ago.
Amerisuites

We stayed at the Amerisuites Universal several years ago and liked it. They offered a free deluxe continental breakfast daily which my girls loved. It was very clean and very well kept.

The last week in March is not Spring Break for the Orlando kids and it is before the big April Spring Break rush. Get to the parks early (before opening) the first day to check out the lines before buying express passes. The website says there is free limited transportation, so make sure you check that out the night before to avoid disappointments.
