Has anyone tried to remove a peel and stick wall paper border from their walls? Do they peel off easily or leave residue like pasted borders do?

We rent and are allowed to paint but not wallpaper. I was wondering if we could get away with a peel and stick kind in our bathroom.

I used a peel and stick in my DD's room a few years back, and had a hard time trying to get it to stay! LOL It peeled off very easily!

Instead of a border you could stencil on the wall with paint. It is not hard and there are lots of pre-made patterns at Home Depot, Garden Ridge etc. I did my DD's room in pink flowers and it looks really pretty.:D

I taped wallpaper border in place. It holds fine, looks nice, and peels off easily when it's time to move! Plus, I can peel the tape off the back, roll it up, and take it to the next place.
