I booked 4 flights to MCO using Southwest. Each leg of the trip was $89.00 and I used the $25.00 of roundtrip tickets.

The same flights each leg are now $69.00. I do have another code if needed.

How do I cancel and rebook or do I call?? The difference is $160.00 and will that amount become ticketless funds or refunded. This is my first-time on Southwest so I am not sure what the best way to do this is.

Thanks for you help though, it is greatly appreciated.

just go online to their travel tools section - you can cancel and rebook through there - your cancelled flight will go into ticketless travel funds, and when you rebook, you will use your travel funds for the new flight price, the balance will remain in your travel funds account - its very simple to do!

The only time you have to cancel and rebook is if the lower fare is a ding fare. If it's a regular fare, just go in and modify your reservation, reselect your flights and it will reprice it.

Just so you know, if you rebook, you will not be able to use the promo code and won't be able to enter a new one. I learned that the hard way yesterday and now am paying more for my flight. They are a one time use. I'm not sure if you can cancel your flight all together and then rebook with a new promo code, if not, you won't be able to. You should call them and see what they can do for you.

Forgot to add that you won't get the refund, it just becomes a credit that needs to be used within a year.

I was able to do this earlier today. Just canceled my first reservation. Did a new reservation and used a different $25 code that I had been hanging on to. The whole process was very, very easy! Good luck, OP.

Can I ask where are you flying out from, that the price is so low? I am still waiting for the $100.00 ticket to drop from NJ and still nothing?:confused3

Thanks Maria

As most stated I would call the CSR to see how it would be done or try to do it online and go through the process but don't confirm at the end to see if you can use the coupon.

BTW that's a really good rate. I was able to get $79 one way back in June when they were having their anniversary sale for 3 days.

We are flying out of Buffalo...

Off to try, quite worried that I will screw it up.:lmao:

Just finished. I had to cancel and rebook, and I admit it was scary and I was worried that the flights would be gone. I did have to use an additonal $25.00 code other than my original. But I had 2 to start with, so it worked.

Flights were $69.00 each way from Buffalo - Orlando. With the coupon it ended up being $530.00 roundtrip for 4, non-stop both ways, times that we really wanted. In addition, I now have $160.00 in credits.

Not bad for a few stressful minutes. Here's some prayers that other fares go down also!:wizard:

Congrats! The flights that I want/booked, dropped from 165 to 93. Of course, I gave away my SW code so I don't think I can do that. Unfortunate. But yay for you on the savings!!! I also saw that the credits that you get now can't be transfered after January 2011. From what I understand, you could take the savings from each family member and apply them all to one ticket if you wanted to. I may be misinformed though, it happens often!! :rotfl2:
