I would appreciate any reviews of the Grand Cayman excursion to Rum Point. We will be traveling on the Disney Magic next month and need to make a decision soon. Don't know if its better to do the public beach in town or to pay the extra money. Haven't been able to find much on the internet about this beach. Thanks for any help!

we did the rum point and stingray swim last year. it was by far the worst day of the cruise. you spend a ton of time traveling..... ship to trolley to van to boat, to another boat, to take another boat.... the beach was NOT impressive, the water was dirty, and the food and service were no great shakes. my 12 year old was scared t o death of the stingrays. the only worth while excursion we've taken is the dolphins. other than that, going on our own is much more relaxing, more fun, and more relaxing!!!

We were on the 3/27 Magic and we did the Rum Point Beach excursion without the Stingray portion. It was just hubby and me and we really enjoyed it. We thought the beach and water were beautiful, though the beach was a little small. You do spend a lot of time traveling but we still felt we had adequate time at the beach. You might not feel that way if you try and squeeze in the Stingray City portion. Hubby is very fair skinned and burns easily so we didn't want to be in the sun all day anyway. And we thought the food was good. We enjoyed this much more than the Playa del Sol beach in Cozumel (yuck!!)
