I will be bringing my parents and in-laws down with my family next year (DH, DW, DS-4).

We want to stay at the BWV for what will (hopefully) be our first trip home...see ROFR thread.

I was originally planning to get 2 studios for the parents and a 1-bedrm for us ( all in the same area) so that all would have their own privacy and space.

Is this crazy when a 2-bdrm could be a 1-bdrm + a studio combined anyway? Are their any other differences? Would that connecting studio still have it's own entrance?

We would then get a 2-bdrm + a studio (less points).

Space and the overall comfort is more important then the # of points to me in this case. But, if I would get the same thing anyway and just be spending more...it seems silly.

Hope this makes sense. All of this is assuming our contract passes ROFR of course (but hey...I like to plan).

All two bedroom units at BWV are lock-off units. So yes, the second bedroom would have its own entrance and kitchenette. You could agree to shut the connectting doors whenever you wanted more privacy. If you get a 2 bedroom, the keys will open both entrances.

My advice is to go with the 2 bedroom and a studio. There is a much greater chance of getting two rooms close together than 3. Also, why have a connecting door to strangers - Unless you are lucky enough to get a dedicated 1 bedroom unit (and there aren't all that many of those), you will have a door in the living room of your 1 bedroopm unit that connects to a studio. Of course in that case, it will be locked, LOL!

Good luck with the ROFR process!

If you get a 2 bedroom that is a lock off the 2nd bedroom has it's own entrance. A dedicated would only have 1 door. I would also sugest that you request room's near the evevator it can be a l-o- n- g walk back to some of the rooms. Don't know how old the parents are but mine would never make it.

There are no dediated two bedroom units at BWV. All are lock offs.

Kim,

Go with the 2-bedroom. It gives you the advantages of communal space with the advantage of privacy and comfort. We did the 2-bedroom with studio when we went with my in-laws and DH's Brother's family. The parents and BIL's family both got studios and we got the 1-bedroom (and the Tub) for our family.

We would hang out and eat in the living room, and everyone still had their own space to retreat to... Not to mention their own bathroom.
