Hello all! My church's youth group decided they love the musical group line-up for Rock the Universe this year in Sept., so we will be attending both nights. I did a search in the forums on this event but didn't get any hits other than it is a separate-ticket event. The group price of 99.99 for both nights which includes a 3 day hopper ticket for that weekend is a great deal, and one that we will be going with. Now I have some questions that I need help with please :)

1. Transportation at end of day - I have personal experience with the Country Inn and Suites, this hotel is close-by and it meets our needs for free parking and free breakfast and has free shuttle to park, what I am wondering about is transportation to get back to the hotel. We can use shuttle for getting to the park but Rock the Universe ends at 1am - so I am wondering about the return trip. Does the I-trolley stop in front of the hotel? How late does it run? I have read taxis run also, how much per person or is it a total per group?

2. Meal Deal - I was considering bringing up that we should encourage the kids to buy one for Sat. On Friday, I forsee us making it down to Orlando by 3ish so not a good deal there. However, Sat. will be a FULL DAY from 9am-1am! What I am wondering is would the plan end at Universal at the end of the "regular" park hours? I am thinking so, but wanted to double check. However if we get the 2 park plan, they could slip over to IOA to get a supper - the question is what time does that park close?? Calendar not released yet so I am not sure if that is the way to go either. Please give advice.

3. Rides - Are there a great deal of rides open for these nights? Or a handful? I saw where they advertised for an express pass for 15.99 a night - how does this one work AND is it an expense that would be worth it?

If you have any personal experience at this event I really welcome it. Thank you!

Here are my responses:

1. Can't help you on transportation since I live here. Someone will come along and answer this question for you.

2. The meal deal is good during normal park hours only so you are correct. Once RTU begins, you can't use the wristbands any longer. IOA usually closes at 7pm in September...possibly 8pm but no later. Remember...food service ends 30 minutes prior to park closing.

3. There are only a handful of attractions open for RTU which is why the EP is so cheap. RTU has been very busy for the past few years so the lines could get pretty long but I'll leave that up to you as to whether you want to purchase the EP or not.

I went to RTU quite a few years ago...back in 2005...and it's changed a lot and is much more popular. I would have to go again to really give you a better idea of what to expect.

Thanks so much for your help, hoping for more responses.
