Hi macraven! I'm in the Universal learning curve, and I think I agree with you. Do you have any educated guesses as to what the AAA rates might be? Thanks!
this fall will be my 18th stay at hrh.
have also stayed at the other 2 on site hotels.
i have always used a code or discount for my rooms.
if you call loews and you want to book with AAA, they will transfer you to the UO ressie department. if you book with loews first and do not say you have ap/aaa, they will book the room at rack rates.
i always just book at UO by phone and write down the name of the person, date and time i booked. and always request an email confirmation based on that booking. i always get it and take it with me when i check in.
if you do not get an emaill confirmation within 48 hours, call back and give the name of the tm you talked to. you will get the email at that point.
i book in january for october stays on site. the AAA rate is in the system at that point. the ap rate usually comes out april/may on the website.
in august, i check the website for ap rates as sometimes they drop.
also, check for supersaver rates when they are released on the Loews site.
those deals are listed there first, then on the UO site.
i was able to switch codes as i modified my rates before the uo site listed them. they sell out quickly. the supersaver rates are good if you stay 4 nights at the hotel.
in the past years, the aaa rate has beaten the ap rate for me. might be for the time period i go for it to go that way.
the ap rates seem better in may/june more so than the aaa rates when i last checked them.
book now and modify your rates when the promos, codes come out.
if it were me, i would stick with aaa for the discount because the time period i go has better rates with the aaa.
i have both aaa and ap. use them both in the parks.
if my rate dropped drastically based on the ap discount, i would switch in a heartbeat. i go with the best discount for rooms.
