I have a fourth hour class that goes to a local preschool and as part of our grade we have to teach our class different lessons. I was wondering if anyone had any cute crafts that they know how to do that would be good Christmas presents for parents. I was thinking picture frames that they decorate but I am not sure yet. If anyone has any ideas post them. All are welcome!

we do the picture frames alot..
last year the kids made a snowman out of cotton balls..
if i think of anymore, ill post!

Thanks! I just found some cute things on crayola's website. I will keep looking. I also need some sort of math activity that has to do with cooking. I was thinking of some turkey cookies made out of oreos. I am just not sure yet.

How about picture ornaments? As a mom I love these and they are the first ones I hang on the tree. My mom still has ornaments I made as a child. Take digital photos of the kids, cut cardboard circles/stars, etc. spray paint some pasta noodles gold or silver and have kids glue their photo to the cardboard, glue the noodles to make a frame and put a thin ribbon on the back for a hook. Be sure to put the date on the back. I've also seen this done w/ two candy canes glued together to make a heart shaped frame. When I tried this, the glue didn't stay together well. A hot glue gun would have worked better, but then you are doing ALL the work.

Try the Familiy Fun and Parents magazines websites. Also women's magazines like Women's Day and Family Circle will probably have some crafts at their websites too. Of course I just ordered from Oriental TRading company for my Sunday School class (first graders).

Good luck. Let us know what you find.

hmm cooking....i dont know how old your kids are..but i taught 4 year olds...for cookingthe head teacher and i brought all of the ingrediants for choc chip cookies....the kids took turns measuring..(we did 2 groups , each with one teacher so e veryone had a turn)..that night, i baked the cookies , and we brought them to eat

Check out the Family Fun website or back issues of the Family Fun magazine. Lot's of good stuff in there! :)

I actually thought about the scrapbooking page. The only reason I was not sure about it would be we are limited for time two of us have to present our project and we have to do it in about 1/2 hour so it would be an hour total time. We also only have one day of class time.

A good idea would be to make handprints (paint their hands and press them on a piece of paper) Write the date and decorate with streamers and stuff. Or even let them glue dry assorted shapes of pasta in the shape of a frame and spray them gold or silver.

A couple of years ago our kindergarten teacher made a cookbook of the kids recipes. It included all the kids and they told the teacher how to make their favorite thing. They were really cute. Kids would bake their pizzas in an oven at 4000 degrees for 30 seconds and stuff like that. It was one of those things that mothers like. It wasn't a lot of work just typing it up and running it off. Seems like they used a half sheet of paper and then punched holes and tied them together with yarn.

I don't know if you get the Nick Jr. magazines, but they come with a supplement mag called "noodle". The last issue I picked up had some cute Christmas type things like ornaments, etc. I took a couple to my DD's preschool teacher and she made copies to use in her classes. I made a template of one of the ornament designs, and will copy some onto cardstock so DD can color or doodle on them. They'll make nice keepsakes for the grandparents and aunties and uncles, I think :)

When my DD was in preschool she made a reindeer head decoration out of brown construction paper. The head was made by tracing her foot and the antlers were made by tracing her hands. Then they glued on googly eyes and a red pompom nose. Very cute and special.
