Not sure where else to ask and I'm hoping the fellow budget conscience folks here have some experience or advice with this...
I have a Hotpoint brand glasstop stove. I think it is around 5 years old. Probably less than a year ago one of the burners stopped working properly (wouldn't get hot enough) but other than that no problems. It was a back burner so I honestly just stopped using it and didn't worry about it.
Yesterday I went to go bake some muffins. I mixed the dough while the oven was preheating - but it never preheated. Then I discovered none of the burners are working either. The power is on because the clock is working and all the stove buttons and lights come on. The problem is nothing gets hot...not even warm.
I have no experience with appliance problems and this month has already turned into one of those "when it rains, it pours" as far as unexpected costs go. Any help or advice anyone can give would be much appreciated!
