One day of our trip I am taking my girls to BBB and then to the Princess Storybook lunch. My DH and DS are going to hang out at our resort (YC), probably rent a boat or something and meet us later. They need to eat lunch somewhere.

Possibilities are Beaches and Cream, ESPN Club, Big River Grille or Captain's Grille at YC. I know ESPN Club does not take ADR's and B&C does not either correct? What about BRG or CG? If they take them are they needed for lunch for 2 people? How much trouble will they have getting into either ESPN or B&C? (It will be on a Sunday afternoon if that matters) DH doesn't really want to be tied down to an ADR, he says he'd rather just eat when they are hungry/feel like it. The girls and I are hopefully eating around 1, so best case scenario, they would eat around the same time and we could meet up after.

Which of these 4 would you recommend? They are just going to be eating burgers or sandwiches most likely.

There's also Hurricane Hanna's ... might be a good choice if they want more time at the pool.

We're going to be at the BW in mid October. We go this time every year and have never seen a wait for any restaurant, (except ESPN on Sunday/football-day), even at dinner time, so I wouldn't worry about ADRs.

I would think any of your choices should be fine. We prefer the F&W festival at Epcot in October, but if they really want to eat at the resorts, Beaches and Cream or Big River should be good for burgers/sandwiches. If it's not Sunday and they like sports, they would love the big TV and wings at ESPN.

Hope you have as much fun as we always have in October. See you there. Can't wait!!! :yay:

the big river grill was really good in april when we were there. the waitress was great as was the food.

we also ate at espn club which was the opposite. we had the worse waiter in the country i think. the food was horrible. the management was just as bad because when i spoke to them about the waiter and food they did nothing except say they were busy. we will NEVER go back to this place for anything.

there's also a pizza place on the boardwalk called spoodles that has some awesome pizza. you can order it and sit out on the boardwalk and watch the world go by. you can buy pizza by the slice or whole.

don't forget the bakery when all is done. :)

Thanks for the replies so far! It will be a Sunday afternoon, so maybe they should skip ESPN because of football.

Do you think they need to have an ADR for lunch? Or could they just walk in?

In that general area, I would walk to the Dolphin and try either The Fountain, or the Cabana Grill. Excellent burgers.

If forced to eat lunch at BW/YC/BC, I'd probably hope that the Spoodles pizza window was open. Of just the four choices you listed, then I'd probably pick Captain's Grill first. Then, in order, B&C, Big River, then ESPN.

Beaches and Cream is good, but unless you get there shortly after opening(11a) chances are high there will be a wait. We really like the Fountain over at the Dolphin though

DS and DDIL ate at Captain's Grill two years ago for lunch and he's STILL raving about how good it was.

Thanks everyone! I hadn't even thought to look at Swan/Dolphin, I will check those out as well. Are ADR's needed for lunch at Captain's Grill do you think?
