So I have tried calling Howard Johnson's reservations and was transferred 3x in one call with one lady being extremely rude, I was just trying to get the rate for the Entertainment card and no one seemed to know what to do to get the discount or how much the discount was for. Is there a website that I can get the entertainment rates or does anyone know what it is? I was excited to stay in this hotel but now I am looking at others. What are some good hotels in the same price range? Thanks

You need to make sure to call the HOJO in Anaheim DIRECTLY and be sure to ask for IN-HOUSE reservations. I made this mistake the first time and the main Howard Johnson reservations people had no idea about the ent rate. If you talk directly with the Anaheim HOJO they can help with the ent rate.

Yes, and ask for Lorealle. She's incredibly nice and informative. She has all the patience to answer any question you might have.

I called the Anaheim one directly and they transferred me to someone else as soon as I told them I needed to make a reservation! Maybe I will try again, but right now I am turned off by them completely. Thanks for the responses!

give them one more chance, it could be they were swamped at the time and that can be frustrating. Just ask for Lorealle, or in house reservations, they will need to put you on hold.

Or just go to the website, put in your dates, and then the promo code sd50.

I have always been able to reserve online, in that way. I guess if you can't get the rate to come up, you can try calling Lorealle or in-house reservations(714-776-6120), or if you go to the HOJO forum, you can e-mail Lorealle for the dates you want.

Like everyone says, she is extremely helpful.

I think the incredible rate is worth a little or perhaps even a lot of "peevedness". It is allowing me to plan a 7 day trip instead of a 3 or 4 day trip as well as planning a second trip because the savings are so huge!

Yeah, I got a premium Disney view room in August for about $75!

And from my experience last year, if you call them directly during lunch (pacific time, remember), you stand a good chance of being shunted over to the 800#, and from my experience, they will LIE and say that they are "in house". Finally took me directly asking her if she was there in Anaheim at the hotel, for her to tell me the truth. It was pretty obvious, though, it rang about 10 times then sort of clunked, and then it rang again and she picked up.

Make sure you are directly asking for In-house reservations when you call. If you just say you need to make a reservation, they'll just transfer you elsewhere!

Yes, be sure and say you want "IN-HOUSE" reservations. The in-house reservation office closes at 5 p.m. pacific time, so call before then.

First time I called, they sent me to the 800 number and he tried to tell me I had to give him my Ent. number over the phone (I didn't have it yet). Then when I said I'd call back later he tried to get me to book anyway, by offering me a $20 gift card :lmao: . Hah. I just booked on Wednesday after e-mailing Lorealle about it. I got the Ent. rate of 74 + tax per night on the deluxe Disney facing 2 queen beds room. That's a savings of $45. a night. We will be there Oct. 12-16th. You don't have to give them your Ent. card till you check in.

Also, my voice is completely gone and so there is ONE lone reservations agent in the office right now.

I can definitely understand your frustration, and I appreciate your patience with us!

You can also email me at Lorealle.Bishop@hojoanaheim.com, and I can check rates/information for you directly!

I hope this helps!

actually I found the DISboard discount to be cheaper. Unfortunately they were sold out on one of the nights we needed (early June), so we are staying elsewhere. But they did fine with the Dis discount on the phone.

Dis board discount is only 15%. On the least expensive room, $99. a night, that's $15. off. You can get that same room for $59. a night on the Entertainment rate, $30, twice as much. But you'll have a hard time getting it through their national reservations line. You have to ask for in house reservations to get it.

We're staying in a deluxe room. Rack rate is $119 a night. Dis board discount would be $18. off that. Entertainment rate is $79. a night, a savings of $40 a night. More than twice what you'd save with the Dis discount.

Since Nora said they would do the Dis discount, it sounds like she was talking to the people in Anaheim, but probably they just didn't have the most excellent Ent rate available on her days.
