 For those of you familiar with DVC's Vero Beach Resort, I have a couple of questions. I am considering going to VB and getting a 2-bedroom for my family and using additional points to get my parents a studio. Do any of the studio's have an ocean view? Do any of the 2-bedrooms have an ocean view? Any help I can get will be appreciated. Thanks! :smooth:

There are 2 bedrooms and studios on the 3rd floor with ocean and partial ocean views. But they are not guaranteed, and there are not many of them. The likelihood is you will not get an ocean view in a 2 bedroom.

Get a Beach Cottage or several Ocean view inn rooms if you must have ocean view and ask for 3rd floor or higher.

I agree with Dean - if you can get a Beach House, do it! Short of that, ocean view inn rooms will also get you ocean front views - just not the kitchen, living room, etc. of a 2BR. The Beach Houses are fabulous and right on the beach.

Personally, I wouldn't sacrifice the nice living room and kitchen area just for an ocean view if I was going with enough people for a 2 bedroom plus a studio. A beach cottage would definitely be the nicest, they are directly on the beach. But , if you can't get one of those, I'm guessing there will be times when it would be nice to have the family together for a movie, snack, conversation, etc. The two bedroom living room area will be nice for that. The view is nice, and desirable, but will only bring so much to your vacation. Remember, this isn't WDW with lots of running around and activities, this is a much more laid back vacation destination, we tend to hang out in our room at different times, with family movies, games, etc.

Just my $0.02.

I'm not having any luck finding a resort map for you that'll show you the proximity of the beach cottages to the ocean, only this overall description:

If you do go with a two bedroom, remember to ask for a two bedroom lock-off unit, top floor, ocean view. That's a one bedroom and a studio that is connected. We did get lucky last year and got a pretty nice view of the ocean in our unit.

Thanks for everyone's input. Captain Midnight, I have to go along with you. For me, the 2-bedroom is an absolute must! If I have to give-up the view I will, because it is not the #1 priority. I am just trying to get some ideas. I did Beach Club in 2002 and my spouse would really like to put in some quality time with the family at Vero. Again, I appreciate everyone taking the time to assist me. :D :D :D :D

I just checked the mousepalnet link-the pictures are awesome!! Boy am I glad I bought points at Vero!!
How many beach cottages are there?

Doug-You may want to get an Inn room for your parents and a 2 BR for your family. That way you have the family atmosphere, and your parents have their own place-near the main are of the resort and a view of the ocean from the balcony.

There are 6 Beach Cottages at VB. That is the main reason we bought 300 pts at VB in the last year.;)

What kind of luck have you all had in reserving beach Cottages at VB? I have 220 VB points and would need to reserve 3 or 4 days and wait until the seven month window to reserve the fifth day.
