I'm taking my sister and her kids 12 Girl and 15 Boy In August. I cannot decide which resort to wow them with. I'm leaving towards AKL, but BC and POLY keep pulling me towards them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :-)

Some details on the kids. Super picky eaters. The 12 yo doesn't swim much and has a taste for the finer things in life. The 15 yo just wants to have fun and is only into sports and video games.

If they're super-picky, they'll hate the food on-site at AKL. At least at BC or a monorail resort, you have access to more choices, between the Boardwalk area and the monorail.

I agree with this. However, i did notice on the menu that the Mara has an adult serving of Chicken Nuggets. I couldn't find that option at the Beach Club. The kids literally eat 3 things: chicken nuggets/strips, pizza and french fries.

Boardwalk Pizza window. Again, it's not "at the BC they'll find" but "near the BC they'll find." And for TS, there is Beaches & Cream, after all.

Hurricane Hanna's does a child-size nuggets in a sand pail.

I was just reading all that. Also I read that Boardwalk To Go has chicken strips. Maybe Beach Club is the way to go!

Stayed at AKL and last time we were at tween/teen stage and they had ZERO interest in being there. I've since said if you want AKL do it while the kids are young and in animal mode. It doesn't sound like a match for the kids based on your descriptions. Since you say tween/teen I think Stormalong Bay would be great fun for them and depending on their independence level, lots to do around there including the shop options etc at Boardwalk and ESPN.

Welcome. Sometimes it's hard to see what kids will see when I'm excited too. I was sure after our first trip there was so successful that this one would be too. They had just moved past being wowed by some animals, they were looking for more. It was still as beautiful as ever to me - but I can understand. Now we go visit and eat.

For the sporty one, ESPN Club is on the Boardwalk and am sure he would enjoy that.

Arcade Games and Shopping at The Yard
Game day continues at The Yard, a basketball court-like compound filled with sports video games for all ages. Go ahead and play—broadcasts are piped in from Sports Central, so you won’t miss a second of the live action.
And in between sessions, be sure to shop for authentic ESPN merchandise and take one home for the team!

If by the finer things for the other one do you mean shopping? Boardwalk has lots of shops and it's fun to wander.

Boardwalk also has the food you are looking for at The To-Go Cart and Pizza Window.

Since you say the youngest isn't interested in the pool area and the other is older (much of Stormalong is filled with young kids) have you considered staying at Boardwalk where you will be right near many things that interest them?

I did consider the boardwalk Inn. The rooms don't look as nice as beach club, but maybe they don't photo well?

Were the Boardwalk photos you saw of the newly refurbished rooms? Or the old ones? IMHO, the new rooms are great.

Both Boardwalk and Beach Club should have new rooms. The plus is the proximity is not too bad to get to each other or the two parks, and it's a beautiful area to be in.

Do most/all rooms at Boardwalk Inn have the day bed? It would be great to not share a bed with my 15 yo nephew. The beach club worries me because there's a good chance of not getting a day bed.

I don't know.

Most, but not all.

I vote for beach club, since it's going to be in august. We stayed at yacht club in June and storm a long bay is awesome!!! There are good food choices for picky eaters at hurricane Hannah (pool grill). We liked being able to walk to Hollywood studios and Epcot. Fun!!!

I vote for BC or possibly BW. I think that teens & tweens would love to be in this area for the pools, nighttime entertainers, & the freedom to be able to walk around on their own, ride bikes, etc.
