Need Help with Comparing Flights...

Hi.
I have to book the least expensive flight to use a credit that is in my mother's name and then not have her travel on that flight.
I will then be able to get a PIN number so we can use on another flight, which won't matter what name we book the ticket but I cannot find out how to do this. The carrier is United.
Can anyone help.

I would just like to change the name on her ticket to my name but United won't do that for me for a charge.

I don't understand what you are asking. You cannot change the name on an airline ticket to someone else's name on any airline. I am pretty familiar with UA's policies and never heard of using a credit to buy a ticket, not flying, and then getting a PIN (?).

I agree. I fly United all the time and the credits they issue can only be used by the person the credit is issued to. I have never heard of a PIN# either.

The PIN number is a travel certificate that can be used in anyone's name.
I've done it before but what I am asking is how can I compare flights to see the least expensive flights from EWR to multiple cities. From there, I can work on what I need to do.
