I've been trying to get a 2 bedroom villa at the Boardwalk from 11/10-11/14/05 with no luck.. Does anyone have a good idea on how to secure one? I've tried the DVC board, CRO, Expedia, etc......

You are having trouble with the Villas because that is during the Food & Wine Fest (ends Nov 13th). Most of the Villas are owned by DVC owners. Most owners reserved space at the 11 month window to be sure they could walk into the Festival easily. BCV is also probably sold out , and I had read somewhere that even Swan/Dolphin had done away with all discounts for that period because the rooms would sell easily at rack rate.

There are very few Villas that can be gotten through Disney directly. They have a reserve of about 5% of them plus they would have any that DVC owners had "traded" in to maybe take a cruise or something. If there are any cancellations, they will probably be snapped up by folks on the waitlist, which is probably quite long as November is only 4 months out.

The only solution I can think of is to watch the Rent/trade Board as it gets closer. Sometimes a DVC owner has some type of crisis and has to cancel a reservation they already made. If the owner is unable for some reason to "bank" the points, they will probably try and rent the reservation out. It's a long shot, but it could happen. I know, because last year DH had surgery and we had to cancel our trip at that time. Couldn't bank the points, so we ended up renting the reservation out.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. If you can get a DVC reservation ANYWHERE onsite I would grab it, as they eventually will all go.

I thought that CRO didn't get rooms at DVC resorts until 60 days before according to the DVC rules so that members have a chance to get them. With that said I'd also agree with the check over on the DVC rent board since it would probably be cheaper then what CRO would give you if available.

We got a one bedroom villa at Beach Club by renting from a DVC owner. They can reserve at the 11 month window for their "home resort" and have to wait til the 7 month window for any other resort. The person I rent from has OKW as his home, so I had to wait for the 7 month window. He called the first day and got me into the Beach Club Villa's. I called a week later, wanting to add a day and it was completely full, as was Boardwalk Villas. We ended up taking a studio at Saratoga Springs for one night and then moving to the Beach Club for the remainder of our vacation. This was in April already.

I think the villa's are also full at that time because you pay less points for your stay and it's a popular time for DVC owners to use their points without spending allot of them.

My advice is to make a reservation somewhere else as a back up (if you haven't already). I don't think you will abe able to get a reservation at the BWV (or BCV) for that time. It's Food & Wine time (EPCOT resorts go fast for that period as well as for the rest of November and all of December) and the tail end of "Jersey Week". Many DVC members book 10-11 months ahead of time to ensure getting a room during November or December.

As Eeyore 2003 posted, it's been pretty well booked for some time. Doubtful a DVC member could help you and the few rooms CRO got are probably already gone. Sorry.

Best wishes -

Some rooms are released earlier due to member trades outside of DVC, but not many. Those dates are the Food & Wine Festival plus Veterans Day weekend.

You are looking at the weekend of Jersy week (always VERY busy at DVC resorts) as well as the last weekend of the food and wine festival and veterans day weekend....kind of a triple whammy. You might want to make a back up reservation someplace else and try again at 60 and 31 days out.

The last 2 years my sister has needed a studio at BWV over that weekend and both times I was not able to make her a reservation on our DVC points at 5 to 6 months out....but both times one became available at 45 and 31 days out (there is a big penalty for DVC members if they cancel past the 31 day mark....so right around then a fair number of cancellations pop up and at that point all inventory is open for cash reservations)

Good luck.
