We are planning for 5 nights in a BWV studio as part of our first trip "home" in September. We aren't sure if we want a standard or preferred view. A view would be nice, but we're also light sleepers and like quiet rooms. Can anyone give us suggestions? Are rooms assigned when you reserve, or when you arrive? Any help would be appreciated!

Well, it may not be an issue -- at the 7 mos mark now for your trip, a std view studio may not be available. Std view usually goes pretty quick, thanks to the lower pts. (There have, however, been recent reports of folks getting std view recently -- probably as BWV owners with std view rooms have then, at the 7 mos mark, switched over to another resort, like maybe the new SSR).

In any case, the "noise" issue can be debatable, too -- noisy neighbors can follow you anywhere! And there have been conflicting reports about BW view rooms either being noisy or totally quiet . I would imagine pool-view could be noisy, too, though.

FWIW -- a BW view wasn't worth the extra pts to me, we went with std view for our ressie. An extra night's worth of points simply meant more! And the std views aren't bad, as best we can tell (and 75% of our room time is spent with our eyes shut, anyway!) But to each his/her preference!

If you can get a standard view, request a room near the pond, it is quiet there and a nice view. It is far from the elevator but there is a stairway that leads down to the walkway by the pond that is a quick exit over to the bus stop and self parking. Many of the rooms facing the driveway have an Illuminations view.
