I have just read a ton of reviews about 'Ohana not being all that great.. We are going to Epcot the day I have 'Ohana booked.. what would you all suggest for breakfast that morning? I have a DS-21 months (so the princess thing won't be his cup of tea) and we already have Kona booked.. any other ideas?

Try either 1900 Park Fare or GF Cafe-both are great and 1900 Park Fare has a fun character breakfast :) You can take the monorail or bus to Epcot from there.

If you are staying at the Poly, GF or CR then I say go for it! The food is good and the characters are cute but it can be loud and hectic. We ate there when we were staying at the Poly so it was very convienent but I would not go out of my way to eat there

If you are looking for a good breakfast close to Epcot, Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club is great! It's excellent for kids, you get to meet Goofy, Minnie and Pluto, yet I found it to be quieter than most character meals. The food was delicious too! The only issue is that it is right near the International Gateway Entrance to Epcot, not the main entrance. So taking the bus to Epcot wouldn't get you too close to there, since it is past the opposite end of the park. But, from SSR, taking the bus to DHS and then the boat to BC would get you there. Not sure how early those will be running, or if you were trying to make rope drop, but you can enter Epcot through the Int'l Gateway in the morning from the Epcot area resorts.

Cape May Cafe at the BC is quite good and princess free. ;) It's a buffet with Minnie, Goofy, and Donald. They have all the standard breakfast fare, including Mickey waffles, along with some more unusual offerings like bread pudding and asparagus.

Plus, the location is very convenient for a day at Epcot since it's in the BC.

I agree with Cape May...the food was excellent and the characters were great! We were even able to see the characters twice.

Sorry to hijack! We are staying at the GF and are interested in going to Cape May Cafe before heading to Epcot. Would it be faster to take the monorail to Epcot and walk through the park to the BC or should we take the bus to the Studios and catch the boat/walk from there?

To the OP-- we have been to Cape May Cafe and clearly love it since we keep returning! Great character interaction, laid-back feel and yummy food. I also second the suggestion to go to the Grand Floridian Cafe if you prefer to hang in the MK area for bfast.

I'd suggest taking the Monorail or Boat from GF to MK then getting a bus directly to BC or the Bus to DHS then Boat to BC option. It's a long walk through EPCOT and while they will let you pass through WS to get out at the International Gateway they will stop you to ask where you are going since WS isn't officially open until 11AM. Probably any option would take about the same amount of travel time.

Thank you! Is it likely that buses would be running to the Epcot resorts from MK first thing in the morning, though? If they are, you probably are right about that being the fastest route.

The buses have to go back to somewhere from MK so you shouldn't have to wait too long to get one that would head to another resort. If it's taking long you could Bus to YC & walk to BC or Bus to Swan or Dolphin then Epcot Boat to YC/BC or Bus to BW then DHS Boat to YC/BC or walk from any of those 4 resorts to BC. Some people do forget things & need to return to their resorts right away.

Makes sense. Thanks so much! :)
