Need help with Blu-Ray!!!!

I would like to get DH a blu-ray player that has wi-fi and will be able to stream netflix. I have heard him say he would like one but only wants one with the wireless internet. Does anyone have any deals on these? I know NOTHING about blu-ray. I went to Wal-Mart yesterday morning and looked at the Sony player that was on sale for $148 but it was not wireless. I also need to know if I would need to purchase anything extra to make it work on Christmas morning. Thanks for your help!!!

There is a cable that you have to purchase. It is pricey, but you can look on ebay for a good deal on one once you see what the cable is(sorry I can't be techy about the cable thingy, that's DH's job!)ANYWAY...you do need one. We bought an LE and have been thrilled with it. It does all of the above mentioned. I don't know if you'll find one any cheaper than $250. MAybe someone else know about another that will? Your list of specs is raising your price. Good luck and pass along the good news if you find one!

I just saw a Samsung Netflix/Wifi-capable Blu-Ray at our local Target for $149. They were also selling a Memorex Blu-Ray (just your standard variety), for $99

I would just get him a ps3 it has everything you want and he gets the bonuse of being able to play video games it is a little more expensive than a stand alone but it will work with netflix (in the next month) and you get so much more bang for your buck

We love our Samsung Blu Ray that we purchased at Walmart($240-probably cheaper now ) and the HDMI cable was purchased on Amazon. MY DH is saying the HDMI cable has nothing to do with wi fi and you will have to purchase the cable for that, which costs about $50. But I can say that the Netflix is great and the Samsung also links up to Pandora. We recently were sent a message to download upgrades, which we did, not knowing what to expect. All of a sudden, we also can rent movies from Blockbuster and can watch videos on Youtube!!!

the HDMI cable does have nothing to do with WiFi but she will need it if she wants true BluRay Picture.

I know nothing about BluRay wiFi since our BR does not have any internet capabilities
