I found one at Target on clearance from 79.99 to 19.99 and it includes $30 of time. I am not at all familiar with this kind of plan but my 11 year old has been asking for a phone and I would like her to have one for emegencies or when she is out without us. i know she will text but I do not want it to be become her phone to use all the time---sort of a trial

Please share your experience, I am confused as to how the pay per day you use works and wondering if this is even worth it.
Also, if I later decide to keep it for her, can I add it to my current AT&T account? the Target associate seemed to think you can by putting in your sim card.

I know I can call their CS and I will prob do that tomorrow but you guys usually know better than the companies!

TIA

I've had a go phone for several years. I have $.25/minute plan and it has worked well for my needs. I know there are serveral other plan options. I have set up my account to automatically refill when it gets low or when the minutes expire so my $$$ have always rolled over. For a $19.99 phone that comes with $30 of time you have nothing to lose.

They also have a website which has a lot of info.

I have a go phone. I have the 25 cents a minute for calls the other option is to pay $1 a day and then 10 cents a minute but there are many days I don't make a call so that isn't cheaper for me. I also have the text plan add on which you can do. There are 3 levels. you can get 200 texts a month for $4.99, 1000 texts for $9.99, or unlimited for $19.99.

As long as you renew the texts before the month is out you don't loose what you have left so since I usually use more than 200 but less than 1000 what I do is buy the 1000 then the next month buy the 200 and what I have left from the 100 rolls over and that does me, sometimes I can do 1 month 1000 then 2 months of 200 before I need to add another 1000. It is the most economical plan I have found to text and not have to pay for a lot of phone minutes cause I don't use many and not have a 2 yr contract.

DD had a GO Phone for a few years before we switched her to our family plane. I put 25 dollars on every 3 months and thats all she got. SHe was told itd for emergencies only. We did the 1.oo a day plan. It only charged the 1.00 if she made a call or text that day. We have ATT too so she could call me, DH and her grandmother as much as she wanted for that 1.00. Most of the time she did not use all her money and as long as I remembered to refill every 90 days the balance kept rolling over.

She only went over her allotment once and she had no phone for like 2 weeks, but she learned.
