Need help with annoying computer problem

I use Firefox exclusively. But for some reason as of late I keep getting annoying pop-up ads from IE. I ran a full Norton scan and installed an ad blocker but nothing.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this. Can I turn off IE?

Download Malwarebytes and Superantispyware (freeware.) Restart your computer in safe mode and run those 2 programs (seperately of course.)

If those don't take care of it, it's more involved to get rid of it. Malwarebytes should take care of it though.

Norton is an antivirus. You don't have a virus, you have malware or adware.
